    Yea I'll probably just do a couple sets of squats. Couple leg extensions and a few leg press. Then calves.

    quick question, trying to get back in shape, talking with a buddy that served some time he said the best thing for getting started is high set, high rep like five sts of ten reps at 95 lbs for bench, and a whole lot of abs.

    im trying to get back into shape for fire fighter agility tests during hiring processes, i know i can acomplish most of it if not all of it, but id atleast feel better if i was in better shape.


    the only issue i have is like yesterday i did chest, (bench, incline bench, and incline bench and flat bench with dumbbells) and i really dont get too sore, does this mean im not stressing myself enough and need to bump up the weight?

    also got a new bicycle for cardio, i missed riding a bike :)

    If you haven't worked out for a while and your not sore the next day after the 1st day back, don't worry. If you got a good workout you may not feel sore until tomorrow.

    you should concentrate less on weight lifting and more on endurance. the fire fighter agility test has no super heavy or hard lifts/exersizes to do, its just alot of smaller stuff one after an other. its an endurance test.

    whats some excersises you would reccomend to prepare for it? ive got confidence i can do everything except for the knocking the steelwith a sledge hammer because ive never had an opportunity to try it.

    im looking at lifting cause i need to gain weight and try to get stronger, however i do agree with you that i will need endurance

    I would do even more reps than ten if your trying to get endurance. I would say around 20 rep a set. In each exercise you do. That builds muscle stamina or whatever it's called. Then you can slowly increase the weight. After you do the firefighter test go back to 8 or 10 reps a set with heavier weight. Also do stairs and a lot of running.

    started the reps of 20 today, doing 2 sets of 20 and one set of 10 to start with and i can definately feel it...and you were right my chest is sore as crap today

    start running. everyday. at LEAST 3 miles. try to get up to 5 every other day. do things like throwing on an air pack and go to your local highschool or something and go up and down the stairs over and over and over and over and over and over. grab a 100ft hose bundle and throw it on your shoulder and do some laps around your firehouse. get your buddy and fireman carry him around.

    try to do some of the same exersizes that are in the actual test.

    i set the 3rd best time in CT =D
