That was over a page of posts with no info ha ha ha. Lets talk about that new 4.0 a little more and see where that takes us. The same 4.0 with a 6 speed perhaps.

had the 6 speed in the tundra and didn't like it. shifting all the time and searches for gears. however, it is fine in the wife's lexus.

    Corrected for you. ;)

Honestly, I'm excited to see the new cosmetic changes when, and if, they happen.

I stand corrected. With the crazy 6 speed shifting in city driving wouldn't be that great, but just a taller sixth gear would help on the highway with just slightly shorter gears from 1 to 5. I'm sure it could be done effectively. I "hear" the current 4.0 has some good power, I have a '96 4 cyl so can't really compare.

I agree, most people don't even know how to use it because they never have to in there sedans.

    Just the basics
The Spruce Mica may replace the Timberline Mica, I can't imagine having two green colors. The Nautical Blue looks cool. I originally wanted Indigo Ink. Both colors come from the Tundra line and various other Toyota vehicles.

Not many changes to even incite want on my part.
Black carpet will show everything from light colored lint to dusty footprints.
No sunglass holder? I love mine!
Glad to see they came to their senses and removed that hideous subwoofer in the access cabs.
It will be interesting to see but I would have rather been looking at a whole new redesign. The first gen lasted almost ten years without a major change. I think we have a few more years to go. This change seems like the one the 1st gens got towards the latter half of their run, 2003 I believe.

EDIT: nautical blue and spruce mica are already listed on the toyota website for the 11 tundras. nautical blue looks like the old indigo ink and the spruce is just another green.

If anyone is interested here is some info I got from my dealer after talking to his distributor. If you want a 2011 Tacoma the deadline for ordering it from the factory is 15 September, any orders after that will be the 2012 model. They said the 2012 models will start production on 1 October. However there will be production delays on the '12s and won't be available for delivery until late Jan early Feb.

Just my few sentences to add to the rumor mill. I'm going to order a '11 in the next few weeks. I need to have the truck before I go to Alaska in January.

Anyone know when prices and more details (pics!) might be released? I'm thinking the reorganisation of packages in Canada will either be a chance to sneak in a price hike (likely) or adjust pricing to reflect current exchange rates without impacting used values too harshly (you can hope I guess).

I was really hoping they would be available for delivery in late Dec. I'm traveling about 4 states to get mine in CA from the only dealer I trust. Vacation time in the books. This no real info being officially released is gonna make it really hard to get a new truck.

Yep I totally agree, it sucks not knowing what the '12 is going to look like. I'm ordering mine from a dealer in Indiana, I bought my used '01 from them 6 years ago.
