If you can find it then It would be fine. I remember demello saying that they use USA mild steel. So I would ask where they order from.

If you plan to race then any hrew isn't fine. They wont allow it.

If I built a cage I would build it according to race rules just in case you decide to race your truck one day. So you don't have to cut it out and do it again.

So am i ok using HREW to build a basic prerunner style bumper? I just called the metal supply place down here and they have in stock 1.75In. .120 wall 20ft sticks of HREW for $1.75/ft Which is not bad at all!

I say better be safe then sorry when it comes to roll cages. You won't want to regret it just because it was cheaper to use HREW. When it comes to bumpers I used 1.75 dom .120 Wall. I only have 250 into my bumper so far. Im going to start building them for who ever wants one. I will not cheap out to keep cost down.

Patton's carries USA steel, but I always ask before placing an order. Most pieces have USA stamped somewhere on it.

Then I would say use USA DOM :D. For your bumpers, sliders, etc use whatever you want. Hell like Logan said use straw and mud if you like. It will only cost you money if its too weak. For your cage I would stick with DOM or possibly even chromoly. You cant buy back your life

Your truck is under 3k from the factory. You have added quite a bit of weight already though. You will easily be over 3k pounds but I doubt the 1st gens would get above 4k unless you go full race trim
