I hope its an Alignment issue. From the looks of it I cant tell the difference from the bad side and the good side. It just looks like my tire is leaning in rubbing on the UCA. The bottom ball joint is facing outwords towards the tire.

I was on my way down the trail in 4 low. I was going a good steady speed about 10 mph I think? On the driver side was a shelf road so I had my attention on my side making sure I dont go over the edge. Next thing I know I hit that rock on my passenger side. The I felt the rubbing, kind of like my tire was skipping. So I got out and looked and the tire didnt look nearly as crooked as the first picture below. but I seen small rubbing. Got back in and tried to see if I can go one enough to get out the trail. I went forward about 10 feet(I can feel the rubbing get worse to where I would give it about 3000rpm and it wouldnt move) and the tire just stopped moving. Got out and noticed the tire is now facing inward even more. My buddy said as I drove forward that 10 feet my tire would lean inwards more and more. Now its rubbing so bad the truck wont move.... Took the tire off and checked everything tried to fix it but I dont know what im doing so I just left it.

Called NYCO to see if he can give me any info on what it can be or how to rig it to get me out. But It was hard to explain. So he came to the rescue and picked us up about 1.5 miles from the truck where we hiked, Crossed a knee deep river and met him on the main trail at about midnight. Drove up to the truck and we still couldnt figure out what it is.

A wheel spacer looks like it can push the tire out far enough to be able to get home. Anyone have one I can use for a day? or know where I can buy one ASAP?

Anyone have an idea of what it can be?

NYCO has more pics to show tomorrow.

Ball joint bent? Is it supposed to do that?

Right here you can see where the tire is rubbing.

    This is the good side.

After research it looks like a bent spindle? Hard to replace? expensive for a new one?
Anyone know if a wheel spacer will do the job in creating enough room to stop rubbing just enough for me to get home? Its In Georgetown.

Based on your pics (which of course are subjective) both of your spindles have the same curve in them. I am going to say ball joint stem broke inside the arm. That explains why you could roll for a bit before it got worse is the stem came loose letting the tire lean in. But realistically it should have come completely off so maybe not. The other thing you should check are the alignment bolts on the lower arm to see what position both sides are in . you could have just pulled the lower arm out of alignment creating the lean.

I have hit a good size rock like that a couple of times and all it does is throw the alignment out. For some reason it will cause my steering rack to completely shift. But never seen it do what happened to you.

Bob kudos for the rescue. Glad everyone was home OK.

You already have someplace that is going to set up for you or do you need some suggestions? I am getting close to this too and will be curious on your direction.

Posted 12 photos to my gallery on here from the passenger/broken side

Wish I could have helped more to get the truck moving but got everyone home at least

Front gears assembled via ecgs and being installed by jace and his buddy keith, and got parts for them to throw in the 3rd member...jace seems confident and I trust him to do a solid job on the install..can't freakin wait! :woot:

Honestly not much faster than we did on devils canyon. May be just a tad bit. I wasnt aired down this time. I had to go somewhat slow on this part due to a big drop on my side of the trail. The rock is bigger than the pic looks. its about as tall or a little shorter than my tire. And it angles straight up.

Im getting my spacers now then im gonna head up the trail in my gfs car. It will make it to the water crossing but gotta stop there and hike about 30-45 min to the truck.

    Wish me luck guys

It sucks man. Ive beat the hell outta my truck. Gone way crayzier at times and never broke anything. Why does it have to break on an easy part of the trail? lol. Its my fault though. I should have noticed that rock and not have been looking on my side as much

its your spindle its bent I did the same thing couple years ago if you take it in 800 at toyota get the part and find someone to help there not to bad it will be way cheaper or talk to Jace about getting it in.
I found that it dosent take much speed to bounce and land just right on it to bend it mine was even the same side i prob was only doing 7 max when it happened to me

Sorry to see another person dealing with some similar issues... I'm in the process of figuring mine out from a 4th of July weekend mishap.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/su...at-options-would-you-recommend-upgrading.html

The first shop I took it in to diagnose told me the A Arms were bent, in addition to the spindle. I think they were trying to inflate the bill for an out-of-towner, but the spindle is definitely bent and by the looks of how toe'd out your is... I'm willing to bet you've got at least 90% of the same problem as I do.

for those who haven't already (or possibly already) bent their spindles. It might be wise to invest in some of these.
