hi guys. i'm new to tacoma world so forgive me for asking the same old questions you've answered a hundred times already. but i'm wanting to lift my truck, not much just enough to go up tire sizes an inch and stop my flaps from scrubbing everytime i go in and out my driveway. i've looked at several kits online some kind of junky and cheap like daystar to more high dollar sets like ready lift. found one called zone lifts for $160 that was rated real high on another forum. toytec had a butt load of lifts but the guy over the phone said the cheaper kits of there own name road like bricks for shocks. so what i'm asking is the zone lift going to do the same job as the ready lift at a lower price or is it like running shoes and you get what you pay for .

Bilstein 5100's and AAL is what I did. Search "lift" on this forum and that recipe comes up over and over.

dude you're obviously going to get what you pay for. if you think a ready lift is "high dollar" you need to re-think your lift. i've never heard of a zone lift and around here, ready lift is basically the asshole of lifts. like wilson said, 5100s is probably the best bang for your buck, but you're going to spend a fair bit more than 160

5100's up front. your choice for the rear. 1.5" or 2" AAL Just do MASSIVE research on the shocks you want for the rear. I learned this the hard way.

Or, OME lift, or Toytec lift

lots of options. Do some reasearch, and you will learn A LOT about your truck.

thanks for the help guys. I was looking real hard at the 5100s and aal. i can get um both for around $350 the same price as the ready lift. and when i said "high dollar" I ws being funny. lift kits for a toyota is 1/3 the cost of anything else on the road.

I say you give toytec a call, use their discount code on this website, and get 884s or 885 coils up front with an AAL in the rear all for around $350. Then look for shocks, which OME or 5100(set at 0 up front) shocks would probably be plenty of shock for mild offroad abuse. oh yeah this would be a 3'' lift and you could go with 285s tires with minor trimming to the wheel wells

Oh yeah but then you might want to look in to new UCAs for proper alignment. Oh and if you're offroading it some extended rear brake lines, if you go with longer shocks in the rear.

Like everything else, it really depends on what you want to spend. Mine cost about $220 total (I haven't replaced rear shocks yet but need to) but, as stated above, there are plenty of more expensive options.
