Yup! 121000 miles on the odometer. I have had it since 90000 miles. I always babied it. No full throttle romps in mud. I was pulling up an on ramp at about 3500 rpm when it shattered. I immediately turned the key off and coasted to the shoulder. I have started looking for a reman motor with a warranty. Why would this 250000 mile engine let me down half way through its life? Maybe I can do a hilux diesel swap....

Well, maybe the previous owner didn't baby it like you do and abused the engine. Maybe it was a bad mold at the factory....IT happens.

The only thing you can do with damage like that is get a used motor. Probably can find a good one in the junk yard or something.
Hope everything works out for ya.....

I always kept the fluids in check. Always ran synthetic. I never let it go above 4000 miles between oil changes.

I was thinking used at first but a warranty sounds too good with a reman

FWIW, I bought a used motor with 37k miles from www.car-part.com.
The site lists parts all over the country that are for sale.

    Yeah it is very possible.
The link in your signature about using 4wd on pavement is incredible. I watched the entire presentation a while ago and could not find it again.

There is a 5vz for sale here in STL but that may be a bit far for you. Good luck with the engine

My motor came from Colorado. All depends on what you want I guess. I didn't mind paying $200 freight for getting the motor I wanted with the miles I was looking for.
