i believe in what i can see.. no one person on the entire earth has mental powers i don't. the entire concept of religion was created by crazy ancient desert dwellers back when people believed the world was flat!

imho i find it hard to even except that people i have respected all my life believe this shit! it is so freaking childish and stupid.

and one more thing.. jesus is fake so he absolutely did not put us magically out here to rape the planets natural resources.

they are finite and will run out! and when they do nothing but, reality will be there to greet the religious. harsh yes but, very very true...

just deal with it because those of us who never believed in this crap see from a distance just what organized religion has contributed to this world. war, genocide, raping of women and children and lets not forget 911 that was religion at work right there!

his followers believed in him so hard they flew a plane into a fucking building! religion is dangerous as can be and why is that you may ask... because no one knows anything i don't there is not one single person that communicates with "god" they think they are but, really they are just crazy imo of course.

Same with you my friend. It wasnt as hard as i thought i was gonna be. just deciding flat out to not believe. it went against every sermon that i sat through thinking to myself, "this is nonsense". I've found life to be straightforward although not always simple. i still pray to a "God" so to speak but not JC. i think he's purely fictional. I've never even felt the "holy spirt" that make people in my church get up and dance and other weird things. i guess ill see with time. :spy:

I certainly respect everyone's belief system or non-belief system, as it may be. But for all of you "unbelievers," just a small suggestion: Pascal's Wager. Look it up. At least it's a start and as Pascal discovered over time in his own way, faith in a one-true God (in his case, a Christian God), is not only healthy for the soul but also provides an indisputable morally straight compass to the believer. Pascal's argument wasn't perfect but it's fairly compelling to those who do not currently open themselves to the possibility of religious faith.

I don't know how I would of made it through life without having had a foundation rooted in my Christian faith. Especially now as a father, where I am blessed with being able to teach and demonstrate to my children that life is a gift from God, and they always have Him to lean on. That's a comforting thing for a child, especially for all those children out there who grow up in very unloving environments. Why? Because God is love.

For all you unbelievers, a question: What do you tell your own children when they ask what comes after this life? What hope do you give your children? I've been around awhile and what I've found is those who do not yet have children of their own are far more likely to be unbelievers. I have no evidence of this fact; just my personal experience.

And some of you have made arguments that Christians are one way on Sunday and another every other day of the week. Your right. There are many like this... we are all sinners and there are deceivers amongst us, even in church. God knows every person's heart. He is no fool. And it disgusts me when I see it too, and you are right to call out the hypocrisy. For me, I just pray that everyday I move a little bit closer to what God wants me to be... that I become a better Christian, better father, a better human being. Never perfect but striving to be.

Many of you will also argue that a "loving God" would never let anything bad happen to His children. This is often a difficult question to answer and none of has the perfect answer. Here is the best way I know how to explain this: There are forces of evil in this world--constantly disrupting God's plan, fighting Him at every turn and there are many willing conspirators against Him--and when bad things happen, God grieves with us because He loves us. But He made us a free people, capable of choosing our own paths, and we all too often choose poorly. But He is constantly calling us back to Him. It's not for us to understand the why, but truly believing in Him and coming closer to Him everyday will give us the revelation in His time.

BTW, I talk to Jesus everyday. He sits beside me in my truck when I drive to and from work (He likes my Tacoma), and He is with me when I read to my kids at night, and He is even with me when I am in so much pain from my multiple failed spine surgeries, I want to die. He is with me always, and I never ever forget that. I feel His love within me and around me.

I'm just another sinner trying to fulfill God's plan for me.

    Just my thoughts.

Atheist. I'm not raising my kids to be atheist or religious though. The only thing I tell them is that they have good, working brains in their heads and they can use them to decide what they want to believe. They know what I believe and why but it's my responsibility to teach them how to think not what to think. The only thing I really preach is that some people believe in god and some don't, and it's not what you believe that makes you a good person but how you treat others.

^ I'm truly sorry for your loss and your anger is absolutely normal. I have been there. It is the most difficult of all things to understand... the WHY? I have no answers that will necessarily comfort you. Again, I'm sorry.

Disagree on this one. Women are the root of 99% of the issues in this world, religion is the other 1%. :D
