Anybody have any issues with rubbing on 1st gen tacomas with 4.5 backspace on 17'' wheels?

That will be highly dependent on the tire size you wish to run.

I run 265/70/17 on 4.5 backspacing 9" wide rims. Had to do the pinchweld mod and no rubbing.

FWIW, I have a 2011 Double Cab Tacoma PreRunner with a 3” Procomp lift, 17x9 RBP 93R wheels with a 4.5” backspace, and 305/65/17 Procomp Xtreme AT tires. Very small amount of rubbing, only at extreme turns. I don't go off road, though.

I have stock 17s off a 2nd gen taco sport and had to use a spidertrax spacer to clear the UCA with 285/70/17. Not sure on the BS.
