I'm tossing up the idea that when I graduate I either want to get a 6 0r 5 speed Taco or a Frontier. I'm afraid to get an automatic Taco b/c I think I might get burned like I did with the one I have now. I never realized how constant towing can/will do it's toll on a transmission. Same goes for squealing the tires.

Towing with a manual transmission isn't easy unless you know what youre doing.

I know it isn't but I'm not worried about towing anything anyways. The only thing I've ever towed was my dad's 5k pound boat and to be honest I'd rather not do that again since it was really shaky on the interstate. But, the previous owner of my truck used it as a tow vehicle and I guess that took it's toll on the tranny along with me squealing the tires. Here lately my tranny has been shifting hard and it constantly hunts for gears at lower speeds. Shame on me for not finding this out earlier. Also, the tow package on my truck is not factory so it isnt really prepped for towing anyways.

hahaha you got jokes. I seriously am kicking myself in the ass for not being patient when we were truck shopping. Instead of visiting the Toyota Dealer first I was dead set on my truck which was at the GMC dealer(assholes). For $3k more I could've had a brand new truck with no issues :(

Besides I dont look like a lil kid/*** like Lents :D:cool::p

I'm just saying you complain alot, you always are thinking about selling your truck, and you also rag on your truck it seems. Lents was also complaining about his transmission, because he was doing the same shit that you were doing (burning out etc....)

I like em both. The Pathfinder we had last Summer was really nice and I liked the way it handled on and off road plus it was better on gas. I'm picky when it comes to vehciles

My sister had one of those. Sorry POS! She had it maybe a month and she got rear-ended. She and her boss were on their way to Tampa to pick up a Jet ski. They mad it to Brooksville when a a car in front of them stopped and did a u turn. My sister was stopped at the bottom the hill when a woman in a Mazda came over the hill traveling around 60 mph. The womans car ate shit b/c of the hitch. The bed of her truck was pushed into the cab creasing both sides. They had to fiz the cab, bumper, and bed sides. After we had got to the scene the woman tried driving away with a busted radiator. She mad it over two hills finally running off the road and hitting the guard rai l. Stupid Bitch got screwed :D

Edit: POS b/c it went through 3 fuel pumps, fog lights leaked, suspension made all kinds of noises, paint faded on hood/roof, power steering pump failed, spit/sputterred off and on at idle, and a few other things. They traded it in and go a Jeep Commander :)

People blame bad paint but people usually don't take care of their shit properly wash/wax regularly clay bar every now and then, and general maintenance goes along way. I loved that truck, sounded great ran good fast :D that 5.2 would :burnrubber: only if it was 4wd  almost bought a 4 door 5.9 4x4 dak before the taco. Should have woulda been cheaper and I wouldnt be living at home.

Don't do burn outs. It wastes your tires, stresses your vehicles, and you really don't want the ticket you'll get if caught. Find another way to impress the high school ladies. Mud puddles usually do the trick. Or a mohawk.

If your parents paid for your truck for you, keep it. Don't go and get yourself into a vehicle you're gonna need a loan or higher payments for. I could get a loan and a 4x4 Tacoma if I wanted too, but I love my truck being paid off.

The Frontiers sit a lot lower than the Tacoma. Aftermarket support also isn't nearly as large. They look badass when modded, but there's a lot less choices for parts with the Frontier than there is the Tacoma.
