    2003 taco TRD off road 4x4 dbl cab.
    255/85-16 BF goodrich km3's, modified trail gear Bumpers front and rear, 10k winch, ranch rear lift shackles, Rancho coilovers in the front, grey wire mod, aftermarket stereo, camper top on the back.
    does anyone know if a set of 15x10 wheels will fit a 1st gen prerunner. kinda curious cause i found a good deal on tires but im afraid they wont fit over the brakes

    Ok....reading all this technical info and trying not to get too confused cuz I'm a girl(hahaha)..... but my simple question: if im puttin on a 6" lift w/ 20x10 rims n 33" tires.....do I still need to worry about this bacspacing thing???......if so, Wat r some suggestions for it?

    I have an 06 TRD 4X4 Tacoma with 16" alloy TRD wheels. I have the All-Pro UCA's with the 5100's in the front with 285/75/16 Dueler Revos. Currently when I make sharp turns the tire will rub on the UCA's. I am looking to get new wheels and tires and would like to keep the same size tire but but not sure on the wheel size/offset/backspacing i need to get some extra room between the tire and UCA.

    If any one here can help out that would be great.

    FYI: I am looking at putting Destination MT's with the Ultra Wheel Maverick. I am more open to changing wheel size than tire size. I would like to keep the wheel well looking full.

    anyone running 18x9 with 5.5" backspacing and offset +12? i have a 06 dc with 3" lift. would like to see some pics of those that have a truck with wheels these specs running 285/65/18. thanks!

    Those tires are too big to run on wheels with 5.5" backspacing. You will need 4.5".

    I have rims with nearly those same specs you noted, with a 1.75" lift and 265's. If you want to see some pics, check out my build in my sig.

    would this be a rubbing issue or what? the wheels i have right now are 17x9 4.5" bs n -12mm offset. just looking for slightly bigger wheels.

    Weathertech front floor liners, window vent visors. Custom bedside decals. OEM bed mat, tonneau covrew. Added D rings to bed.
    What offset/backspacing range should I look at for just wanting to be stock.
    I have the 265/70/16 tires and will be replacing them, but also getting some winter wheels/tires. I don't want my wheels/tires being too much closer to cause rubbing, or sticking way far out.

    Stock is a 5.5" backspaced, 7" wide rim. Only way to stay stock would be to get a rim with those same specs.

    As an exmaple, if you got a 8" wide rim, with 5.5" backspacing, it will stick out 1" more than stock. An 8" wide rim with 4.5" BS would stick out 2" more, and so on.

    I'm thinking about getting a set of 15x8 with probably some 265/70 on them but my question is would the 2.5 backspacing stick the wheel out too far? Or would the 3.75 do the job?

    265/70/15 on a 5 lug? How much lift do you have?

    IIRC the best you can do on stock suspension is 235/75/15

    i just got a 3 in procomp on my 09 trd off road and am very satisfied with the clearence that alone gave me. i am planning on upgrading my tires from the stock 265/70r/16 to 285s but the guy at the shop said i needed skinnier tires to keep from rubbing the control arms. im really wanting that aggrsive look and dont want to go skinnier but dont want to rub. i also asked him about spacers but he said he didnt recomend because of unwanted stress on the lugs and what not. all im asking if that is true or not and if so is there another alternative i could use to keep from getting skinnier tires. i am going to be using the stock 16s.

    It's either spacers or aftermarket wheels with a backspacing of 4.5" or less. FWIW, a lot of members have or do run spacers without issue.

    @ 98tacoma27, so i either get aftermarket rims. which isnt an issue cuz i was planning on just buying a set of used toco rims and powder coating them. or spacers. probly just go with aftermarket rims. thanks for your input
