Beep Sound When Hitting Bumps?

Sometimes when I hit a bump a little electronic beep sounds off somewhere. I'm not even offroading or speeding, just regular driving, a small bump might set off the beep. So far its only happened sometimes, in 2wd, straight line driving.

Is this normal? Where's it coming from?

 

No, not normal in regular driving. Do you feel any of your brakes activating or do you feel a 'growl' sound from the truck when that beep happens?

 

No, I dont hear those other sounds you're describing, only the single beep. It happens intermittently.

 

Gremlins? Idk. Never heard beeps before.

 

My driver window squeaks...kinda sounds like a beep.

 

I'm guessing it's your VSC skid alarm. If you hit a bump just right it can jar the VSC yaw sensor enough to momentarily fool it into thinking that the truck is entering an incipient skid. Usually it happens to me when I hit a bump on a curve tho, not while driving straight.

 

Parking brake barely engaged?

 

This is the only time when I hear it go off. Only when I bump a curb...

 

The same thing happens with my truck. There's one specific turn in my neighborhood that I guess gives just the right bump for my VSC to engage. Always scares me haha. But I haven't had it do that just driving on the road with small bumps.

 

Before driving over that bump next time, fully stop the truck and hold in your VSC OFF switch for a few seconds (until lights come on indicating you are in VSC OFF MODE... Now drive over that bump as before... This may tell you if it is a stability sensor, alerting you that the VSC has just saved you from rolling over, etc. Maybe there is a small curve along with the bump, and that combination puts the VSC into action?

My VSC beeper rarely goes off... Only on rainy days when I take a turn too fast, and it prevents the truck from spinning out or when four wheeling on loose terrain and sloshing around will make the thing beep,beep,beep.

The VSC will sound a very faint beep without engaging , I think this occurs when you are approaching the parameters where the VSC actually engages .

This faint beep is different than the loud beeping and light flashing that occurs during VSC engagement , which you also feel through the pedals similar to when ABS engages .

 

It used to happen to me on occasion when I was still stock.

Me neither. Probably because I have my stereo cranked to 45 most of the time.

It happens .

There is a particular corner that makes my VSC engage if I am going over 40 MPH , if under 40 MPH there is no engagment only a very faint servo / beep noise .
