Need help looking for a tacoma. Long story short, my dad's work van died. He needs something cheap, but runs good. He doesn't care if it's ugly as hell, as long as it runs decent. His budget is "the cheaper the better" lol.

Okay guys I'm stuck in a pickle. I can buy 5 315/70/17 bfg AT's for 800 shipped, or I can get 5 KM2's 285/70/17's for a bit more. My question is which should I get? I never planned on running 315's, but for that price it's almost too good to pass up.

He is the one who I am consulting with for the KM2's.

I have KM2s no complaints, except make sure you have aftermarket UCA's, they'll last longer with em. Overall though, I think this may be the last set of BFG's I buy.... I have never had a set that balances correctly. They're just cheaply built tires.

    ahhhhh i see.

Well if you get the 315s then you'll have to do more (trim fenders? cab mount chop? regear?), right?

Yeah I haven't heard anything bad about the KM2's. Yeah these come out to be a 34.5" tire.

Yeah I'll definitely have to trim fenders/cab mount chop. It would be more helpful to regear sooner rather than later, but there is someone on the site who hasn't. The reason I'm interested is only because of the price.

    You're on a 3" lift right?

I know you're a 4runner, but my KM2's are about as tight as you can fit on these damn trucks IMO.
