you will always lose mpg with a roots blower wince they add displacement to the engine... i think the ones for the 3.4L make it an 3.6L

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
well if i were to get one, i'd definately go URD. they dyno'd theirs at getting 96hp gain to the wheels...and only runs 4900. i might need to take another trip to the desert this year...lol...that way i can get the SC and get a new 08 challenger r/t w/ the 6.1L hemi pushing the 425hp...mmmmmmm

I'd rather get the TRD supercharger. The roots style blower provides more power at lower rpm than the centrifugal (URD) does. To get full power from the URD SC you need to be running at near redline, and personally there is now way in hell I would do that. So to answer you question, it's a matter of personal preference on which you is better for your needs.

I agree with you ill look into the TRD one..why should we redline just to get more power..id rather have it at lower RPM..i think we would see more power and stability throughtout the band with that one ...

this might be a stupid question but will this have any affect on the towing? common sense would say it helps it, but is there a chance it would hurt the towing in anyway?

A SC would help your towing. But if you mean towing capacity, the answer is no. That's one of the reasons they built the SC, to improve towing performance. It wasn't built for racing.

Oh wonderful, they gave away a SC and now we all will have to pay full MSRP to pay for it!!!
I waited and waited, but I just bought a 2007 Honda ST1300 ABS MOTORCYCLE last week, and now the fun money is all used up.
I will wait until next year when all the bugs are worked out, I hate being the ginea pig.
I had a 2006 Scion TC that I sold 2 months ago, and they also had problems with the $4,000 SC. IT HAD OIL LEAKS.

So does anybody have the new TRD SC or heard anything about it i.e. is it any good? What is the 'bang for the buck' factor?

I've read some some post on other forums about people with this setup and they are quite pleased. Took some time but it appears that TRD really tersted this thing out and the kit you get is all you need to make the wheels spin without the worry of pinging like the previous generation S/C for the 3.4.

Another good thing. Lets say you got your rig in Dec 2004 and your at 35,998 miles and you get this compressor installed. Bam you just extended your warranty another 12 months or 12K miles.

Power; the 4.0 does not have enough in 4H in rough going. I proved that to myself compared to a 383 Power Wagon.
I got by with 4L but it was iffy.
If you are going to spend the money, why not a turbo charger with an after cooler?
Super chargers have been out of date since WW11.

Molt Tayler made a flying car. Tha C.A.A. approved it but the D.O.T. would not. It is in the EAA museaum in Oskosh, WI. if you wish to see it.

Out of date? Are you kidding me? Manufactures are still bolting superchargers on from the factory. They are also a very hot aftermarket upgrade for all kinds of vehicles.

I must be behind on the times...I thought we have only had two World Wars. I must have missed 3-11. :D
