I would have stabbed you in one eye and ripped the other one out before he found the safety. Then again, Im not your average mugger. If your gonna point it at him at least shoot him in the ass. Otherwise he can always come back to get you. Life was so different growing up on the streets of STL.

j/k round, dont get bent people

i wonder if that was real?

as far as what he did, i've always said if i got mugged and was able to pull out a gun i would ask for the mugger wallet and tell him to leave. then i'd call the cops and give them the info in it and just say i didn't feel like keeping a gun to his head while i waited for them so i just took his id instead. i wonder if you'd get in trouble for that

Well, if charges were to be filed, you'd have to have evidence or a witness to prove it, and since the chic probably isn't going to do that, they'd have to find the mugger. And when they found him and if he wanted to press charges, I'm sure charges would be filed on him in return...so it's really a wash...if it really happened.

IMO, you take everything he has if you're gonna let him go. Even his pocket change. He should pose no threat to you when you let him run away. Now, what you do with his belongings is debatable, but, if I were involved in an incident where I had to draw a firearm to protect myself, I damn sure wouldn't taunt the po-po for a reason to come want to talk to me.

That would be a very valid reason to demand his property. Assuming the post is real, demanding more than just ID/ wallet, then giving it away, using the cell, etc would be a lawsuit / civil prosecution waiting to happen. I like the idea of getting the id but would probably just have my wife call the cops and keep the guy at gun-point until they get there. It's a mess of paperwork but at least gets the bg an official record and maybe deters future issues.

Pictures would be priceless and I'll have to remember that. Imagine having a picture of the bg with a steamy load about to cry and posting that for his friends to see. Better deterrent than the police could provide...

Chances are that a guy mugging wouldn't have the resources/presence of mind to file civil charges though so that concern would be pretty low on my list at the time
