    Folks,
I had batt light come on for a while during driving..ydy truck just stalled few moments in a light. Dash light went dim, abs, handbrake lights came on. This morning it would not even start. Manual says batt light means something wrong in charg circuit n to take to a dealer. I suspect alternator as i towed a RV month ago and had weird smell on way back. Its 7pin (12V line going to charging the RV batt).
Whats the best way to check the alternator if its good. Mine being a NON TRD has a regular alternator instead of heavy duty i guess. Any help appreciated. thnks

Just a bunch of old crap
Remember the old days where you had to take your alternator out and bring it into the store to be tested? That sucked, especially when it tested fine.

They'll do it right in the parking lot for you without having to uninstall anything.

On a side note, I have an UltraGauge and I have my battery voltage as one of the gauges on my front screen. If it dips below 13v, I start to keep an eye on everything. Normally my voltage is right around 13.2v, but if your alternator starts to go then you'll see voltage dip into the low 12's or high 11's while the truck is running. Don't go on any road trips if you see that.

It sounds like it can def be your alternator. I had the same type of issue with my 06' Sport edition a couple years ago. Dealership replaced under warranty of course.
