I want to go vertical uniballs too but it would be impossible to park in the parking structures I use

There's a white 2nd gen with custom LT and 37's and I believe he's 4wd while pulling more travel. I'm not 100% tho

Nope the engage hase horizontal. It is defined by the uniball itself. Not the axis of the bolt

jack the truck up, let the axle fully droop. measure from the point you'll mount the strap on the frame to the mount point on the axle.

round down, you want to strap it before it fully droops

I was planning on strapping it 1.5" before it was fully dropped. Does that sound ok? time to break out the hi-lift again

should I unmount the shocks on the axle or do the springs stop before my shocks are fully extended? I would hate to ruin them

keep the shocks mounted and do it. so you know where the shocks stop extending at. then i would do it a inch before its at full ext.

but listen to matt over me, im just going ovv by what i have read in the past:)

    This.

Make sure you account for the mounting that you are using, i.e. eyelet to eyelet.

leave the shocks on, that way you are 100% sure you are limiting the travel before they max out

my truck is limited to about 1.5" before full extension too
