Alright audio guru's, like most, I am upgrading my sound system in my 2001 Tacoma Double Cab and these are going to be the components to it. Please feel free to tell me any faults in the system or any recommendations you have, especially for my amp, or any comments on my choice of speakers ect..

I am going to have six (6) of these total:http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SPS600C/Alpine-SPS-600C.html

Two of them will be in these:http://www.crutchfield.com/p_044C4003D0/Q-Forms-Kick-Panel-Enclosures-Gray.html The other four in the front and rear door.

They will be powered with this amp all wired in series to a total of 1ohm load: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_206DX5001/Kicker-10DX500-1.html

With this below my single din head unit where my pocket is now I guess I will wire it in to the wires for my fornt speakers so it is running off of the head unit? I'm not sure how to hook this up but I have heard a car with a center channel speaker, namely this one and I want it in my truck: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SBS05DC/Alpine-SBS-05DC.html

I have 2 Polk Audio MM840 Sub Woofers so my low end is taken care of. Two of my tweeters will be mounted in the Q-Forms location, and the other four will either be mounted at ear level above the front and back row seat belts or in the head liner above the driver and passenger seats for the front and back. What are your thought?

Just a couple of problems i see. Serial will not give you a 1 ohm load. you add them together when they are wired in serial. So 4 x 4ohm speakers wired in series will give you 16 ohms. Parallel will give you a 1 ohm load if you have 6 x 6 ohm speakers. Connect all the positives together and all the negatives together for parallel.

If you run them all off of one mono amp, you will have no fade and balance.

Oh yes, the wiring I was talking about is + to + to + etc. and - to - to- etc.
Do you know of any amps that could handle that load with out breaking the bank, I know that the mono amp isn't the best for this situation.

I would go with a multiple channel amp so you can adjust fade and balance. The JL audio amp i just ordered will do 2 ohms unbridged. JL Audio JX360/4 It will give 90w RMS to all 4 channels at 2 ohms.

If you wire them all together you won't have the ability to adjust fade and balance. Each speaker will have to be connected individually to do that.

So could I wire the front left two and the front right two to one channel and it have the same power and ohm load? How would I wire 6 to one amp, or would I have to buy a 4 amp and then a 2 chan. amp? Do they sell 6 channel amps?

If you want all 6 channels independent, you will need a 4 channel and a 2 channel. I believe you can wire 2 speakers together (2 x 4 ohm speakers in parallel is 2 ohms) for one channel.

Ok, we have a LOT of stuff to address here.

    1) Don't get those kickpanels and put anything in them. Stick with the stock locations for those Alpine components. They are fine.

    2) Only buy two sets of those Alpine components.

    3) Buy a 4 channel amp and give each tweeter/midbass pair their own channel.

    4) Don't buy that center channel, it's junk and you don't have the processing to make it work.

    5) ????

    6) Profit!

Have you ever noticed any difference between on axis and off axis systems. The system I am basing mine off of has speakers in stock locale with on axis kick panels and at the top of the a pillar, by the windshield, tweeters everywhere to a total of 10 and 4 subs in a tahoe so I am trying to build a scaled back version of his also not so pricy. And could you explain 4-6. have you heard the center channel, the review's say it is mostly good and I wouldn't mind a cross over as I want the absolute best sound I can have and I will deaden the entire truck soon.

More than two tweeters up front is possibly the worst thing I can think of to be honest. You'll have multiple sources of sound and it's hard to get it coherent. On and off axis really will only make much difference when you get into some more expert tuning. I wouldn't worry too much about that to begin with.

Let me ask you two questions, and you must answer them as honestly as possible...

Do you want a great sounding system?
How much are you willing to spend on EVERYTHING combined?

Answer those two questions and I can help you get what you need.

Buy the Focal 165VB component set for the front. Set the crossover on the amp channels powering them to HIGH PASS 80hz. Put these in the stock location. Buy some deadening for the front doors. Do your best to seal things up.

Buy a decent headunit with features you'll use. Something Pioneer or Alpine should do the trick. Make sure the headunit has 3 sets of pre-outs. Front, rear, and sub. If you can find an Alpine with the imprint system that would be a plus. The imprint system uses a microphone to test the frequency response of your system and sets all the EQ and tuning on it's own.

That's all I suggest you buy right now. Don't buy an amplifier or rear speakers. Run those speakers off the new headunit and run the subs you have off the amp that I assume you already have. Make sure the crossover on the subs is set to LOW PASS 80hz.

Get this stuff installed and see how you like it. If you want rear speakers you can add them. If you want an amp you can add that too. But you might (very high chance) like the system as is and you'll save a ton of money this way.

PS: Don't skimp out on the deadening and then whine to me about how you have no midbass. That should be a priority.

I have this HU I'm sure it's enough and my speakers were water damaged so they have a tinging sound with bass now but before when they were not damaged my subs would drown out my speakers that is why I am doing all this, but I will try your speaker suggestion. They were some that I was comparing among others. I will eventually deaden the entire truck.

Also a vary important aspect in my quest for great audio is that I am Hearing Impaired approx 70 loss in both ears and my hearing aids amplify EVERYTHING meaning wind noise, tire roar, my music, people talking, etc. so loud is a must, and deadner I will need I had a layer of foam on the floor of my s10 and it made a world of difference so I understand how even a little bit of money in that department will go a long way.

That headunit will do very well. 4 volt pre-outs if you want to add an amp later and there are internal crossovers.

Those Focal speakers are very efficient and will get quite loud on the power from the headunit. If that isn't loud enough for you buy an amp and or more speakers.
