What is this?

I was just noticing behind the back seat of my double cab this thing. There are 3 places to move it (whatever it is)... Not sure what it is for? I cant think of any uses. I am sure it is in the manual, but I don't feel like dragging it out. I tried to search, but I have no idea what to call it. Thanks for your insight.

I think it is so you can check and make sure your vehicle is right side up

 

It's a vertical compass. Instead of pointing north it points up. Good job parking you did it on the wheels and not the roof.
