So what's this other Jesus you speak of the Mormons following? Just some other dude with the same name? Or is it really just a matter of Christianity in general saying it's not the same because both don't agree on the circumstances of his life? (Much like no two religions can agree on what constitutes God or "the great creator"?)

lol I think Hodgie put it best. :D

It's really not difficult to understand.(and I believe both of you know already:D) Mormons do not believe in the Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible. There is only one Jesus Christ and I laid out some info about Him in a previous post.:)

Anything other than belief in the Holy Bible Jesus Christ is a cult......there.....run with that and have fun, attack, flame, doesn't hurt me none and I sure ain't skeered............:D

Again, though, that's you (or Christianity in general) saying you're right and someone else is wrong. What makes you right instead of me? Or them?

Why are Christians right and Muslims are wrong? (aside from the whole suicide bombing thing.... oh wait.... Crusades. )

The gist of it is "accept Jesus in your heart, and get into heaven" yes? What about the natives someone mentioned earlier that've never even heard of Christianity? Do they automatically go to hell? Seems a bit naive and arrogant to say only people of Christian faith have someone good happen to them after they die, while all others burn in a fiery hole for eternity.

I put that up there with people that say there are no aliens, we are the only intelligent species in existence. ;) Seems like that violates one of the seven sins in and of itself. Isn't arrogance a form of pride? Arrogance in believing you are right while everyone else is wrong would be considered pride, yes? Or perhaps the need to make everyone christian (and thus better, like them)? Thus Christianity voids itself by the very beliefs and actions. :D

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...

even more closely to home, if christians are right and mormons are not christians are wrong eventhough they have a different outlook about the same person, what about baptists, southern baptists, fundamental baptists, lutherans, presbyterians, evangelicals, AME, methodist, etc that believe in the same stuff and have a different outlook on it? they have to be different or else there would be no need for the separation into different denominations.

judaism, christianity, and islam are all abrahamic religions and trace back to one similar point. if you ever watch south park, you'd know everyone is wrong and the mormons are right.

i guess everyone else is on the express lane to hell...ie mormons, jews, muslims, jehovah's witnesses, budhists, all agnostics, athiests, and people that have never even heard of religions.....and all of history previous to christianity. he only died for this sins of the people that were living after he was skewered, right? cant accept him as your lord and savior if you are already dead.

I can only answer for myself, I do not know about the other aquaintenances with cancer, other than they were receiving treatment while I was.
I was shown mercy by my LORD. If it had not been for the strength and healing that he gave me (even though I went through the cancer treatment), I would not have been here either.

    That's 50/50 odds, without prayer.

What do you tell all the people that prayed but didn't beat the odds?

I see no correlation between prayer and results.

It should be easy enough to find stats on whether people that pray survive cancer more than those that don't pray, but that wouldn't convince anyone that puts faith over science.

If I have ever come off as acting better than anyone else, arrogant or judgemental, I truly apoligize. That would be very inappropriate conduct and I would expect someone to quickly point it out publicly, or in PM.

I know I'm a douchebag like the rest of ya'll![IMG].......especially my pals Hodgey and PT! Double douchebags![IMG] I love it when you two tag team me.[IMG] Makes me feel special.[IMG]

as for the red responses in the quote of me.....

"Issues such as the nature of Jesus, the authority of apostolic succession, and papal primacy separate one denomination from another."

    ergo, they are different....

as for the judging, you are the one to say that the mormons are a cult since they dont believe in jesus the same way you do. that would go for every other religion that i stated. the non believers of your god go to hell. I wasnt passing judgment on them, but putting simply twisting your words into a more drawn out and easier to read fashion:D

I find this extremely insulting to our medical professionals that you would disregard their hard work, study, training and personal and professional sacrifices to provide you with the best medical care possible by attributing your recovery to God.

While I understand that your belief probably psychologically gave you motivation to endure (one of the few positive attributes I credit religion), to deny that the health care system cured you and saved your life is demeaning to those men and women who worked so diligently.

You could just as easily blame God for allowing you to develop cancer in the first place -- but that cannot be said for those who sought to treat you.

very true...if he fixed it by himself, there was never a reason to go to the hospital for a cure. people with religious issues to medicine often refuse service and their kids die for it

lmao I wasn't meaning you in particular with "you". More of "you Christians" in general. I have yet to hear any Christian admit that Muslims are right, or also right. Or any other non-Christian religion. Thus, all non-Christian religions are wrong.

But it's not just Christians, so don't feel like I'm singling you out. NONE of the other religions acknowledge each other, or agree they could be right. Or even pool their evidence to come up with 1 unified theory/belief system. They ALL point the finger and say ALL others are wrong. As I've stated before, they can't ALL be right if they each say the other is wrong.

If I say 2x2=5 and you say no 2x2=6, we're both wrong yes? So all religions are wrong. :D

And I was simply pointing out the fact that people thinking all religions other than their own are inferior is arrogant. And one of the seven since Christians aren't supposed to commit is pride. So they sin every time they put Christianity above all other religions. Or try to "save" someone. Or convert non-believers. Seems kind of funny actually. They're committing a sin to convert people to a religion that condemns that very sin.

    Btw, you *are* special. ;)
