    Hey everybody,

I have been a 'lurker' on here for a few months trying to learn as much about my Tacoma as possible. It is a Canadian vehicle (not sure if that really matters other than the speedometer). 2006 double cab LB, TRD Sport 4x4. Everything is stock other than some sweet TRD branded seat covers, ha!

I will be looking to put in a 3" lift with some bigger tires and rims but am really just biding my time to learn more about what set-up is best and costs.

Great to meet y'all and thanks in advance for your help. This is only my second online "community" I am a part of (BeerAdvocate is the other) and am looking forward to it, also looking forward to the move back to Seattle.

Any tips and advice would be well appreciated!

    Thanks!
    Colin

No set budget right now as I really am not sure how much a nice set-up would run (still learning!). I was thinking about saving up around $3500 which I would hope would cover tires too... Too little???....

Thanks for your help and any advice!!

    Oh ya, I lived in B.C. (Abbotsford/Langley) from 1998-2009...:)

You could do the OME kit with the Dakars , UCA's , wheels and tires nicely for your budget .

Your driving demands should be the basis for what lift you go with though .

Do you haul ? Tow ?

    Serious offroader or no ?

I'm in the Gulf Islands :canada:

Thanks! For all the different set-ups I have been browsing through, the Dakars look pretty cool.

I do haul but not too often. And don't really tow.

I will mostly be using it to take into the mountains (i.e. Snowboarding, fly fishing, mountain biking, some offroading but nothing too crazy, camping). I might be getting into some forestry work and could possibly be using it up on the logging roads.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for the welcome!

I did my graduate school at A&M, moved back to Canada, married a girl I met while at A&M and we moved back down to Texas (I am in DFW). However, she got a great job opportunity back up in the PNW and since I have family back in the Vancouver area it was an easy decision. However, I will miss Texas terribly!
