The shocks arnt the problem, when you start preloading them with spacers, then it becomes a problem

I have a space system and have had no issues w/it. I live out in the country and have been known to take my truck off the pavement. The only suggestion would be ordering some LR UCA's. I just installed them on my truck. Great investment and they have a group deal going on.

Several people are preaching 5100's and the 5100's are breaking left and right...

Note: They bought the wrong 5100's....

    Nice truck.

    Sincerely,

    Al

Wrong rear 5100 was the problem with that, and rear shocks do not lift the truck. This thread is about lifting the truck. I haven't heard any problems about front 5100's over extending/breaking.

And some other crap
Been there done that. I wouldn't ever do it again, especialy that damn lift block for the rear.

The 1.25" block I still have installed (leftover gayness from the spacer lift I had installed a couple years ago) has been my only cause for problems to date.

I switched to coilovers several months ago before the front spacer lift had enough time to destroy the front end too. The spacer lift seems OK at first and at first I was just happy to have it in the air to clear my tires. I thought it was fine at first. Then the block will eventually mangle your leaf springs (has mine), unless of course you have traction bars, which seem to be impossible to find for a gen two reg cab.

    I stated they ordered/bought the wrong shocks/5100.

I guess my statement/question is what is wrong w/my CNC machined, solid spacer? What if I changed my shock to extend the travel of my shock? Would this solve the issue of the shock breaking (as pictured in the previous pictures)?

    Thanks.

It's not extension, it's compression. The coil bottoms out before the LCA hits the bump stops and the strut takes the hit rather than the bump stop, causing it to snap.
