I did call Toyota today for a case number for my clutch. What I found out is that every time you have a problem, you need to call the company first. I've made mention of having clutch problems every time I went to the dealer, but that does not count.

    Lesson learned.

You are absolutely correct - every time a dealer does any warranty work or TSB, they get a check for parts and labor from Toyota. However, in order to keep dealers from taking advantage and performing un-needed or excessive warranty work, Toyota pays very close attention to a dealer's percentage of warranty work.

If a dealer does too much warranty work, they're likely to face an audit. These audits are painstaking and they often result in chargebacks. Toyota's auditors are paid to find errors, and every time they find a mistake they penalize a dealer by retroactively taking a percentage of their warranty money back.

SO, if a dealer is fearful of an audit because their percentage of warranty work is too high, they will encourage their technicians to avoid warranty repair unless absolutely necessary. This means that, if you have an issue that you think is covered under a TSB, it's a good idea to take it to more than one dealer.

The relevant parts of that statement are:

"The problem is you drive your truck...on a...road. It's not meant for that."

If they stand behind their statement, then I'd say it's time to refund every purchaser of a Tacoma, ever.

Do TSB's apply to certified used vehicles that are still under the bumper to bumper warranty? It is over the 3 year 36k mile mark...

Just had mine in to do the suspension TSB, and they also did the gas pedal while I was there, and they said checked my TRD sport wheels to see if they qualified for recall - they didn't. I don't see a TSB on the list for TRD wheels but just posting so you guys know there's something going on there.

Does anyone have a PDF of REV 2 for TSB-0119-10? The link in the first post is for REV1.

    Thanks!

I have found that my 2010 Tacoma access cab, 4.0L V6, 6 speed manual transmission exhibits the same characteristics as outlined in this TSB..

    TC004-06 JUN 06 M/T - Clutch Pedal Squeaking Noise.

The clutch squeaks only when releasing it though, but is very annoying. I have not seen the dealer about it, truck only has 14K miles on it and I am the original owner and have had the truck since it had only 10 miles on it. This noise is a recent development, within the last 1K miles.

I've had this issue on my 08 4cyl 5sp 3 times now, finally on the last instance the dealer performed the TSB. The noise is just starting to come back now. Sounds like this is just a general issue with these trucks that has not (and probably will not) be resolved. Try searching the forums since other folks have had this same issue and resolved it themselves.

The Certified Warranty people will tell you, "no" and state that TSB work is not the same as warranty work. I spent 30 minutes debating with them on the phone, but no dice. They did not approve the work when the dealer called.

I filed a case with Toyota Corporate and then called my local service advisor (Brian at Toyota of Apex) to let him know the complaint was coming his way. He called back to get my story yet again (bed bottoms out under a load) and said, "Let me see what I can do."

A couple of days later he called and said he got approval to go ahead and last week they installed the 4-leaf spring pack. Great customer service from Brian and Toyota of Apex here in NC. :)

So you'll probably have to fight it via putting in a case and prompting your dealer to be your advocate. The Certified Warranty people will otherwise deny your repair work.

+1, just got mine and was curious as to if any of these TSB's applied to the 2011's.. I'm assuming some should, I believe I only have 3 leafs. (could be wrong, don't feel like going outside to check at the moment)

I was at the dealer today in NJ and told them about the problem with my 07 62k on it and they looked at it. My truck has already sagged 1.5 inches lower than factory. They said no problem they will fix it also they are putting new struts on the front because both of them are leaking. I was really surprised.

So let me get this straight. If my truck has one or a few of those issues, I can bring it in to toyota and the will repair/replace/fix the problem free of charge even if my truck is out of warranty?

    Yes and no.

Let's hope a TSB becomes available for the clutch rotor slipping on plate! 30k and mine gave out.
