    If true:

    Same engine :(

Probably means the transmission is the same as well, and both are long in the tooth...c'mon Toyota, I know you like proven designs, but this thing needs Dual VVTi and another cog in the tranny.

I guess Toyota just thinks everyone will trade in for the new look with no real new benefit.

I hope they don't make the fake hood scoop bigger. Might as well add the fake D4D diesel badge on the back.

    Did anyone read the comments?

TruthHertz Ok, so the truck is getting the updated 4.0L from the Tundra and some new electronics. Can we move on?

The only reason it's the best selling midsize is because the Ranger, Canyon/Colorado, and Dakota are all dead.

I am confused how is it getting a new 4.0L from the tundra I thought the tundra had a 4.6L and a 5.7. SAIRS I don't care about much, I was just voicing my opinion. What else do you care about?

The base model of the tundra uses a 4.0L V6, after that it's the V8s.

Anyways, yeah it'd be nice if our Auto was a 6 speed and it had the new V6 from the 4Runner. :(

"DETROIT – Toyota Motor Corp. will begin selling a restyled version of its Tacoma compact pickup truck in October, one of a host of new or redesigned products coming out for the world’s largest automaker.

The pickup will have a new exterior design and a redone interior as well as entertainment systems, but will keep the same engine and frame, said Bob Carter, Group Vice President and brand manager for Toyota."
