I honestly think it is Steve Carrol that is the problem. I just don't think the guy is funny. I am still gonna try to watch form season 1 on. I think that will help.

See, I think "Michael" keeps a lot of people from being really big fans. I think he's funny, but his character is just a shade too far over the top (for me, anyway). But, the supporting cast is what makes the show.

I enjoy the other people. It's just when he opens his mouth, I loose all interest. Can't explain it. Maybe it is the character I guess. I have been trying to catch the original (Britcom) to see if there is a major difference in the characters. Can't seem to find it though. Maybe I should try looking on that thing they call the interweb.

the problem is that most people think that Michael is supposed to be funny.... he is not.... and that's what makes it funny, he thinks hes the best boss in the world, and a jokester, but he only manages to embarrass himself and the other people..... sometimes you actually feel sorry for him.... :p

I see your point. I don't care for the mentality of Michael. This is only based on the few times I tried to watch it. The only complete episode I have seen is when Jim (?) and the secretary are screwing with Dwight on the computer. I think they had Dwight convinced the computer was alive. That was funny.

yes, i think the 2nd season is best to start, if you don't like Michael now, you wont like it better on the first season, his character its even worst, i think his character was still on development on first season....

I still plan on starting at the beginning. Maybe I can get a better understanding of the show as I see the characters develop from the beginning.

    Last night's episode was hilarious!!
I loved when Andy tried to run over Dwight with the Prius. I watched that scene 4 or 5 times.

That was a pretty funny episode. I love the red wire from Dwights computer to the power line!

Michael Scott: So when, uh, when did you set up shop.
Business owner: Ah I opened this place after I came back from Vietnam.
Michael Scott: Ooh, Vietnam. I hear it's lovely.

So I finished the first season this weekend. I gotta admit it did peak my interest. On to Season 2!!

I also caught a little bit of the Prince paper family episode. Funny.

P.S. Is there any way to change my vote on the poll?

I drove thru Scranton on my way up to Rome, NY this past memorial day. I had to stop to take pictures... even took a picture of a sign to Carbondale (location of Prince Family Paper and where Ryan goes to get Michael fresh yams in "The Injury" - Season 2)

    I know this show...
