man i need one of those, i was hauling butt through a wash yesterday and i know the wash klike the back of mine, every turn, tree and rock. but it rained hard and i come around this courner at about 45-60 and i see huge rocks, dam rain washed the sand away! so i kind of went off the trail, and i hit the smallest rock there was there on the side of my diff, not the drain plug but the other thing on the passenger side you know what i mean? yeah i smashed that pretty dam good. if i was over to the right 2 more inches my rear diff would have been left on the trail.

just figured i would share my story. get that thing on asap!

I did a lot of thinking and if I were to do a SAS I would be wanting to hit trails that most guys can't hit that i wheel with and i don't really want to wheel with the hill billies. Also I payed some debt off when i sold my boat so i didn't have enough to really start the project. Oh it's going to happen just not for a few years.

And the diff cover may be going on this week.

That definitely makes sense, I hope to SAS my rig in the future as well.

Does it protect right underneath the diff very well or mostly just the front of the diff? It's kind of hard to tell from the pics. I'm thinking about getting one of these now too lol...

It welds right to the back of the diff protecting the ring gear. It doesn't wrap around the bottom of the diff but I'm fabing up something for that stay tuned.

Yeah those would look good mine are 15/10's with a 3.76" BS I needed the extended coverage of the bushwhackers but you should be good you would be about 2.75" less then me with a 33x12.5 and even less with a 33/11.5 what size tire are you looking at?

I don't know what size tire you're going to run but 11 is most likely way too wide. For a 12.5" wide tire, you'd be fine with a 8"-10" rim.

What he said ^^^ 10 at the most is all thats required :) and most tires(depending on the manufacture) say 8 is the smallest

How much travel do you have on the rear axle. What length shocks are you running as well. Looking to do this to a 2nd gen.

Yeah i think 10' wide max i would of went with a 15-9" if they had it in my wheels.

If your going 12.5's 7" is too small stick between 8" & 10"

    :thumbsup::cool:

You know I still haven't measured I have 6 or 7 to the bump in up travel but my wheel up travel is around 10 or 11. I'm just guessing but my total wheel travel is around 16" to 18" that's the top of the wheel to the fender. I'm going wheelin in 2 weeks I'll try and remember to check the droop.

^^ are you sure 16-18 of travel????

for a SUA (spring under axel) with relocated shackle and front spring perch with a 61.5 inch spring and 16inch kings you get like 18 if done correctly?

if you do get that much travel, how?

I'll measure when i go wheelin on the 20th. but is the SUA travel measured at the bump or the tire I'm talking about the tire to fender travel.

    like this- ac39b249_51699f6f6e6c037c519feaf8df8f017e775a1090.jpg

then you take out all of the leafs besides the longest one, and let it go all the way up to bump.

    this truck has like 18.5
