    Its been 'fixed'. :mad: Several times :mad: And it always comes back. My new solution is to just not roll the windows down and keep the volume on the stereo high!

    I wasn't - I know better than that. Other people were giving them bread and sunflower seeds though. There were 3 or 4 of them cruising around. I thought one was going to jump off of the wall and bitch slap me when he realized I didn't have any food for him. :eek:

    No and no. This is a side road just before you start on the Beartooth Highway in southeast MT and into WY. I know parts of the road top out at around 10k. I want to go back there for sure, just don't think it would be a good spot for a meet this time around....too far away.

    EDIT - the road in the pic is at roughly 8600' and the snowy ridge in the background is 9700' and the road goes up higher to about 10200'

    I've never wheeled above 7,000'. That is the highest of the high around here. Sure, the volcano's of the cascade range are much higher, just no way to get to them in a Tacoma.

    I've always wanted to wheel above 10K' though. I would imagine that altitude will effect the performance of the truck though. Do you notice a power loss at 8600'?

    You need to come out this way! Our August meet last year took us to about 9500'
    Nope. Not that you'd notice going 5mph in 4lo! And beartooth pass (paved highway) goes up to 10800' at the peak. pretty steep and lots of hairpin turns. You dont get much opportunity to go over 45mph and I get about 23mpgs on the trip.

    2 - seems like a decent road
    3 - OK maybe not.
    4 - so pretty! view looking south-ish
    5 - stopping to take it all in. The 2 snow drifts in the background...the left one is where I stopped and turned around
    6 - looking back down the valley and road. thats the beartooth on the far side of the valley
    7 - another view from the top
    8 - looking back on the road from teh beartooth highway. you can see the road about 1/2 way up the mountain on the right, then there is a u turn and you jump to the mountain on the left and recognize the two snowdrifts from pic 5...thats where i ended up.

    Hey everyone, moving here in a month or so....i'm getting new tires before i go up. Just wondering what your preferances are. I live in Oregon so im use to the snow, mud, and rock. the snow here though is wet and if im right you guys get the real pow pow. im thinking i just might go with some BFG all terrains cause my step dad has those on his first gen and they do fine here, ill be living in whitefish though and i dont know how much snow whitefish gets lol, the BFG' have lasted a long time too, the only complaint he has is when hes in the mud... Should i go with the mud terrains?? just wondering what you guys think and what tread will do good up in Whitefish.
