    Mobil 1 syn is rated as NGLI #2... your good to go... also, the oil will have some seperation from the grease, so if you leave in in your grease gun you will get some red oil drippings. It helps if you pull the plunger to release the pressure when you store your grease gun.

    Thanks for the tip. I don't think I can do that with my grease gun though. Once mine is "charged" you can not "uncharge" unless the grease is removed from the gun.

    Well got 3 out of the 5 points greased, what a mess that was. Grease oozing out all over. Also got the transfer case oil changed as well. Trying to do the front diff, but can't get the drain and fill plugs out.

    2 more to go and your good! I'm assuming you got the rear 3? The front 2 are kind of a pain in the butt! You might have to kick it into 4 wheel drive to get the shaft in the place where you want it to reach the zerks. Oh, how many quarts did you need to use for the transfer case?

    Yeah, I need to do the two front ones that are impossible to get to. I have no idea how I am going to clean the fittings before attach the grease gun. The transfer case took 1.1 quarts. What I did was put in one full quart and 100ML of a partial quart I had. I think that equals 1.1 quarts. LOL!! I'd rather have a touch to much then not enough. I think you pretty much fill it until it start coming out of the fill hole.

    Yeah until it starts to come out. I just wanted to know how much it took. Thanks for the info! Hey on your front 2, you will notice this small protector plate, take that off and it will be a lot easier to get to the zerk fitting! I think that was only for 1 of them though.:rolleyes:

    How did you clean the fittings before attaching the grease gun? I don't want to get contaminants into the joints.

    you can turn the front drive shaft by hand. Make sure it's in 4X2.

    Really? I had it in 4x2 and I tried to move it, but no go. I'll try again tomorrow. It's like -5 degrees right now and tomorrow the high is going to be 13.
