Oil change and new spark plugs today...the old ones looked pretty nasty.

Spark plugs took an hour...oil change took 2  one of the bolts from teh skidplate was messed up and it took forever to get that damn thing out!

yeah it was on the front skid...on the passenger side. but I don't think it was because of hitting anything. the bolts aren't the original ones...and the heads aren't the right size so somehow the bolt head and the washer worked its way partly through the hole. couldn't get a socket on there to back it out because the washer was folded over the side of the bolt head. finally dad got pissed and just started pulled down on the skid...and it popped free, leaving hte bolt behind. i'll be getting new bolts this week as soon as i figure out what size they should be... :annoyed:

So am I the only one that just drains the oil through that hole in the skid plate under the drain plug?

yes. I insist on the skids coming out so that the oil filter doesn't drip on the skid and then spray the entire underside of hte truck in oil when you drive. I think I scraped a quart of old oil off the skid when I bought hte truck...the PO went to the quick lube places and they made a mess of the truck!

How's yours doing? Get your fans working? And your CV's and that oil leak and ..... I'm sure there's something else I'm forgetting about:rolleyes:

Maybe I'm more meticulous about things :notsure: Most of hte time on the plugs was spent getting other parts out of hte way. And dad nor I have ever done the plugs on this engine so it was a learning process...

but its the truth! Tony's truck is falling apart right now! :)

"Genuine Parts" status by 6 major motor vehicle manufacturers in Japan, including Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Isuzu. These approvals were not granted easily and gaining them was a testimony to the quality and durability of Engine Oil Drain Valve.

I actually modified a cool whip container to catch the oil from the filter:rolleyes:

Wow sounds like that two hour oil change made you kinda cranky:)

So I have a few things to do on my truck...I like to stay busy:rolleyes:
