I've been just doing some street riding but took it on some real trails this morning for the 1st time. It was a blast! I learned that I definitely need a camelback, and either better grips or some gloves because I was slipping off a lot.

bone stock save for the block lift that came on it with the open country m/t.
gloves to start, then grips. I bought some lizard skin grips, I like them better than my stock grips. I got some custom lock rings too. Cost a couple buck, but worth it to me. :D

Opening and closing the quick release was a little tricky, but I was able to use the existing holes to install the QR and the door still closed when I wasnt using it.

I have since gotten a long bed and haven't reinstalled them there, just toss it in the back:D

has anyone had to trim their bars? I was told I need to cut an inch or so off the ends of my bars to be even with my shoulders

Nice! I rode the Miles of Smiles 100 Saturday in central IL. 104 miles over 6-7hours with 3000 feet of elevation gain. Damn, I felt sick for a couple days afterwards.

Try a shorter stem length. It will allow you to use your wide bars and keep a proper riding stance.
