Vibes after diff drop

    Well I put my ToyTec diff drop on a week or 2 ago and now I'm starting to notice some vibes at around 30-40 and again around 70.

    They don't really bother me (even though I can feel them AND hear them).

    I'm just wondering if this is going to cause any damage or cause extra wear to anything like the U-joints.

    A friend told me I was probably going to lose power too because it's causing rolling resistance and slight binding and thats what the vibes are. Any truth to this?

    A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
    Take the diff drop off and see if vibes go away. You may be better off with out it.

    oooh, that sucks. Have you thought about extended cv axles? I think LC engineering has some. Not sure if they'll work for ya. How bout after market UCA's?

    they're $1000 :eek: no way i can afford that

    just went out and checked on my boots and already 1 is ripped :( seems like the diff drop isnt that effective, i may try the porsche 930 boots and see how they do

    04 Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab SAW 2.0's Alcan's Ion 171 wheels 15x8 (-27mm bs) 32" BFG AT's
    the diff drop can cause vibrations because as you lower the diff, you increase the operating angle of the front drive shaft.

    if you're tearing boots, the only options you have are to lower it, or to get those high dollar shafts. the porsche boots may work, but i cant confirm it.

    881 Front coils, Bilstien 5100's all the way front set to "0" Icon Dynamic's mini leafs in rear, stock tires.
    How much lift are we talking about?

    Eibach springs with 5100s set at 0. So it should be 3" but I think the eibachs haven't settled much at all and I'm probably at like 3.25 - 3.50. They've been on since October and I don't think they've settled.
