Will this wheel fit?

Hello all, I am currently searching for a new tire and wheel set and I was wondering if a wheel with these specs will fit.

Wheel: Pro Comp 16x8, -6mm offset, 4.25" backspacing.

Tire: DuraTrac 285/75/16

Also to note I will be installing a 3" Pro Comp Lift.

What pro comp wheel? if its a steel only working bs is 3.75. Alloys are good at 4.5 though

 

imho i would reconsider your choice of lift. they don't play nice with a lot of tacomas.

 

Yes it is a steel wheel. The Pro Comp 152. Damn I really liked those too.

So an alloy with 4.5 bs should work with that size tire and 3'' lift?

*edit- The lift is already sitting in my living room. Do you have any specifics on whats wrong with the lift? (I'm not arguing truth, just curious)

 

i have the same lift and learned the hard way that it has well over 730 pound spring rates.

this does not just contribute to a stiffer ride it directly relates to ride height which will most likely be well over the 3 inch mark.

4wp's sold me the lift despite knowing that it was wrong for any 4cyl taco. they just sent me out an arb bull bar for free because at the very least those spring rates demand a V6 model taco and a winch plate steel bumper and a heavy one at that.

my truck was 4.75 inches the day the lift was installed i have to measure how it sits now but it's still way over 3 to be sure. check it out for your self...

even with lr uca's my alignment was still way out.

 

Oh, I should have specified I have the V6, 4 door.

 

Still better lifts out there...

Good luck with it though. There's a procomp lift thread floatin around here with some useful info. Do a search and you'll find it.

 

unless your running or plan on running a plate steel bumper with a winch very soon i would keep this in the back of your mind.

even a dc V6 will still most likely get a good bit more than three inches and you can have problems above that height.

just trying to help brother if you install you will see, it rides very stiff and has a great potential to lift way more then 3 inches like others have said search pro comp lifts.

it's better to send it back now i would recommend toyotec or ome. imho ome is the best best for a 3 inch lift in or around the price range your working with.

yeah trust me if it didn't have great potential to really screw things up i would really like it. there is a true reason for drop bracket lifts.

What I figure is I'll install it, and if it sucks then I can rip it out and get something else.

 

if i'm not mistaken if you instal it your stuck with it i believe the lift is like a wheel if you mount a tire on it it's yours...

it also takes about 8 hrs to instal this lift it's not a simple little matter also one more thing to consider a friend of mine on here has an acess cab V6 with a relentless plate steel bumper with a winch and full ato skids relentless sliders and a 1/4 inch thick steel reear bumper with a tire carrier! his truck is pretty rugged dude and down south motor sports only set him up with a 700 pound spring rate for his kings.

he had installed the lift his self and is a very smart guy when it comes to working on our trucks. now i knew from experience that its dangerous to install the spring over the front shock using a compressor but, with these spring rates i would not attempt it please take the fronts to a shop and have them mount them. if you lost one of these springs it would seriously fucking hurt or kill you.

i said my piece becareful and good luck i hope things work out better for you be sure and take accurate measurements from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender flare and total them up i would love to see how much lift you get.

please post up on how much lift you actually get from this kit.

the 152 comes in 4.25" backspace... part number 152-6883 in glossy black and 152-6883F for flat black...

with some aggressive tread tires, 4.25" would look like a beast on your truck...

 

dude i have a dc v6 with the pro comp lift. It is a stiff ride but it breaks in. My problem was not so much with the lift but with 4wp's on the install. Doing it yourself is the way to go. I am just an idiot when it comes to mechanical crap. I actually want to go bigger with my lift. It settled to much for me. Make sure you do the before and after measurements. if you have problems with the istall that is the first thing pro comp will ask for!!!!You might end up with more than 3 inches but it will settle

 

the reason i was letting him know about it is because every one i have heard from who has this lift has 4 inches give or take a little...

try calling dsms and see what they say about a 730 pound spring rate lol. call old man emu/ arb call icon.

those are some of the most respected names in the tacoma suspension game and they will all tell you that going above three inches of lift with out a drop bracket is no good at all. even if the cv fins may not be touching the rest of your front end is going to be under way more stress. most important the differential your new shocks because they are only designed for a 3 inch lift so they top out over bumps and their life can be greatly reduced as well as ball joints and wheel bearings and the axles themselves.

this is not up for discussion it is a fact. i was trying to give the guy a heads up thats all i just want him to have the knowledge to make an informed decision before he either wastes his time or his money installing the hardest riding complete lift kit thats made for our trucks.

 

dude it's just my experience with the lift, nobody's debating the facts. Anytime you lift your truck an inch or 20inches you are going to wear those parts faster. your not the only person here with that lift. If he is going to make an informed decision he should hear or search other opinions other than just yours. I will stipulate that fact that more people hate the lift than like it probably. For me it was what I could afford. I am satisfied (not entirely happy) with the lift and the way my truck looks. Not happy with the people who installed it. That is all I meant by the post. I did not mean to debate or undermine your fact, post or opinion. I apologize if it sounded like that.
