The other day I took my AFE filter out of the CAI box. It's an oiled filter and I need to clean it (bad) and re-oil it. Anyways, I took it out and measured it (I ordered a Pro Dry S) and then put it back in and put the lid on the box. The next morning I hit the freeway and drove 12 miles and came to a stop light. As I took off in 1st all was good, when i put in the clutch it went sput sput, then I got it in 2nd and pushed the gas it sputtered a bit, then pushed in clutch and sput sput again then sputtered as i hit the gas. Then after that it ran like a fuckin champ!

1: truck has never done this
2: it happened morning after messing with air filter

so............did i break some dust loose and it's sucking that shit in?

Got the Pro Dry S coming Friday....hope that solves it. Then I will take this oiled AFE filter and clean it and reoil it and save for a backup.

THANKS FOR ANY INPUT FELLOW TW MEMBERS!

Not sure. I unscrewed the clamp, pulled it out. Wiped the mesh a bit then wiped out the airbox with a clean microfiber rag then put the filter back on. I'm leaving for Tahoe so I don't have time to clean and reoil. Figured i'd run it till the Dry S gets here. Damn!!!

My bad wasn't thinking. Just got out of a heated debate about running no mufflers and cats and o2 sensors with some guy who thinks he the sheet

Are you throwing any codes? Also maybe just double check things are connected properly. Other thing since you just oiled the filter maybe you over oiled and it got on you mass air flow sensor or throttle body. Since you run an oiled filter I would recommend get MAF cleaner and TB cleaner you will spend like $15 but it's a must for oiled filters.

No codes, no check engine light and I didn't re-oil that filter. I just took it out of the CAI box and looked at it. Then took a microfiber rag and wiped it down then put it back on. Then pulled truck in garage for the rest of the day.

The next morning when i went to work, i hit the freeway and drove 15 miles. I then stopped At the first red light I came too, as soon as it turned green , i started to go and it lagged and felt like it wasn't getting enough gas. I put my foot down on the gas more and it bogged down. Then it stopped doing it for the rest of that day and ran great.

I figured it would be a crazy coincedence that I just got done screwing with filter and now it starts acting up. I wondered when using the rag on it I might have knocked dirt loose or clogged it up so it's not getting enough air????

I didn't re-oil that filter because my new Dry-S is on its way.

Well..............screwed again. The off road shop ordered wrong Dry-S filter. So..........he is reordering but I won't get it until next week. I'm taking my truck to him today because he wants to figure out the problem and give me a cheap air filter that will get me to Reno and back. Hope it works because I'm leaving here at 5am sharp tomorrow! So stressed.
