I won't be able to go wheeling til the weekend of the 20th. I want to go really bad and so does my new lady friend (definitely a keeper)

Well, sadly, I am no longer the proud owner of a tacoma. I now own a 4x4 2010 Tundra (reg cab). I can't seem to find an off road tundra site. Do they not typically get used for off roading?

That was a heat shield that made that noise when we were out there. A couple weeks after I got back I had to back up a hill and put it in 4wd. well i give it a little gas and pop crack pop crack ect. I talked to some people and aparently I have stretched the chain in the transfer case. not a big deal, just don't need to go crazy on it. but it only makes the noise in 4wd + reverse. 2wd and 4wd forward and 2wd reverse is fine.
