Well boys, I have left the FJ club. Couldn't fight the withdrawals any longer...

I still have the 4Runner though. So don't think you're getting rid of me that easy!

I've been gone for a couple years. Got rid of this beauty for a 350Z. Probably the worst decision I've ever made.

    Thanks guys.

Great choice. I've been thinking about doing the same with my truck.

Getting rid of your crazy truck for an STi? If I had as much stuff done as you do I'm not sure I could ever leave. :D

Yes, it's an 04. You're much more likely to find an STi in decent shape for an affordable price than you are a Supra. Assuming you're talking about the latest one they sold and not the boxes early 90's models.

Agreed. I would be nervous to ever drive it. They get more and more rare by the day.

Also - my STi is never going to the sand dunes as you alluded to with the video you posted a few months back. You've been thinking about it for a while apparently.

Can I just say.... I HATE paying labor. It's like paying someone to take your girlfriend out to dinner for you.

I went and got a quote to have the front bumper on my STi repaired because apparently the guy who had it before liked to pull into parking spots until the tires hit. The quote was like $312 for parts/paint and $450 for labor. Ugh.

I have a hard time fighting it too 1999-2010 I had a handful of AWD cars. Here was my 04 STi, it replaced my 02 WRX. I always said a STi Wagon or Spec C would bring me back to Subaru. Really anxious to see what happens with Subaru going back to WRC.

    [IMG][IMG]

Honestly though, I miss my '05 Evo VIII RS more....it was about 330/330 at the wheels and had KW V3's, was very well sorted. Oak Harbor Freight rear ended it in Portland back in April 2008.

My other LCA has a similar crack. Looks like I'll be saving up for a LT kit.

Thought dropping my front diff would give me enough room to weld my new motor mounts in. Not. Going to start pulling the engine after dinner. Going to be a long, late night with the radio.

I just hate Mitsu with a burning fiery passion honestly. The evo is the only car they've made decent in the last 10 years and even the few of those that are still around are not looking too good. STi's seem to be holding up very well.

And if an STi wagon was one of your requirements to come back to Subaru - why aren't you back? The STi has been a wagon since 2008 :D

I drove the RS and it was night and day, so easy switch for me but you can't deny the deny the sound of a well tuned flat four. Spot on how the cars are doing over time...think its the difference in the crowd of owners. I wouldn't buy a used RS unless it was 1 owner and the dude was as OCD as me. Easier to find older STi gems that's for sure.

As for the 08-11, drove several since '08, got serious about it last fall but knowing I was moving up to OR I didn't want to do anything car related in CA...tax down there is horrible on cars, add 2-3k. Right now the Taco is a good fit for me...plus I'm more into two wheeled stuff so I'm on hiatus til we sell the Corolla for a R20 or STi.

Don't have another shot at the moment. Its toward the front, right below the shock tab.

Looks like pulling the motor is a seriously time consuming project haha.

Yeah and don't rush it. Take your time. You will regret taking short cuts. I 110% guarantee it.

I can find cheaper shops to do mechanical work. But I don't trust myself or a cheap shop to repaint my front bumper.
