I just bought a new 2011 Tacoma and was curious if you ever sold your original (and new) factory tires and wheels towards new ones ? Were they easy to sell ? Worth doing it ? I normally wait until the orig rubber needs replaced and get new rims and tires, but then the old combo are not worth much. Will a tire shop give a reasonable trade in if they are new (500 miles) ? What would they be worth ?
    Thanks
    Mike

I sold my factory wheels on craigslist. Priced right they sell very fast. Your best bet would be to sell the wheels and tires outright on here or craigslist. I haven't seen a tire shop that would buy used tires.

I know how you feel, I wish I could trade mine off but I know that is not realistic. As for a tire shop, I figure it like trading in a vehicle, their not going to give you much since they are trying to sell tires and probably get them cheaper than what you would want for them. Your best bet is to list them on here providing you have the factory alloys and someone with the factory steelies might want to upgrade. My big thing isn't the wheels so much, it's the tires. I have the TRD sport, wanted the all terrains from the off road but wanted the painted grill, bumper and hood scoop of the sport. Ultimately wound up getting the sport as it was the only 4x4 I could find with the JBL package. So aside from the wheels I want some meatier tires underneath.
