Here's how it all starts.....just an innocent question about 'what I should do to my truck'.....never realizing that's there no end to it....that you won't be able to stop once you start......

SAVE YOURSELF BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!!!

We need details on what your tacoma is? 1st gen, 2nd gen? 4WD? These details all will help. The 8" rim is too wide for a 235 but that is all I can help with right now......

Ditto on the details, also, those 235's will look kinda skinny when you put that lift on

after all this i plan on shooting the whole truck in line-xtra with kevlar and paxon, then the obligatory recovery stuff warn 9,000 lb winch high lift jack arb traction boards arb snatch straps and the arb exhaust jack. also on the list is the spare nitto trail grappler to go on the full size matching pro comp 7028 wheel then gears and lockers front and rear. dude it started out with me just wanting to throw lights behind the grill and black it all out lol!

now is satan himself came to earth and wanted a regular cab tacoma he would take mine:laugh:

    .
The lift should work, the tires should fit, but I would caution against going with too large a tire size because you have the 2.7, the less mass means less work for the engine.

neither do i right now lol but, i planned on it and the lockers are going in when i do.

i have to say i have a regular cab and my 295's turn pretty damn good actually serious off roading could present a problem maybe but, i'm talking about climbing steep hills and going through deep deep mud. other than that i think a 295 is about as large as you would want to go unless you really want to re gear right away.

i have trail grapplers and for what they are they are some of the lightest tires i could find they are awesome btw. the winter will tell just how happy i'm with them

Have you considered just driving it as is for a few years and saving your money for a more appropriate base vehicle later!

I own the same truck, and understand it for what it is, admit it, you compromised and don't really want this do you.

^^ this. I would wait and get a 6-lug at least before you did anything serious. But if you really want to do the lift then dont let us stop you. :)

:confused:what? there is nothing wrong with the 4 cylinders! these things are monsters.

my truck is awesome and can go places few d cabs can go due to the shorter wheel base and mine does just fine with the 295's.

when i throw the winch in the arb and spray it in line-xtra in a few months. then i will begin to save for gears and arb lockers front and rear and then my 4cylinder will be the bane of 4x4's the vadercoma:laugh:

    ^^^^^

Not slamming the I4, slamming the 5-lug, for anything but a utility commuter.
