Thanks for showing and telling me about those bike mounts Colin.


Little did I know, there's about an inch of insulation on the lid of the bed box and it keeps compressing so I've had to tighten the bolts down multiple times. I used used edger blades to distribute the load better.

 

just saw that. good idea for a thread. you really do have to think about the responses and the situations the products are/were used in though.

i'm actually having to rethink my bike setup now since i took off my tenneau cover. i'd like to have a similar setup, but not sure if it's possible yet

 

Couldn't you weld your current mounts to a piece of metal that goes into the front rail?

 

not entirely sure whay you mean. mine are aluminum though, so no welding.

 

bolt them to a piece of sheet metal that bolts to another piece inside the front bed rail.

 

i would, but i have a little something in the way these days

 

That's sweet. What's stopping you from bolting the mounts to the bed bar?

 

i don't think the frame will clear the rear crossbar when the mount is on the front crossbar unfortunately. and i don't want to put them on the rear crossbar because then i have to have the tailgate down

made it from dobson nc to orlando in 9 15 min usually takes 10hours also on one tank got 8.9 mpg

Yeah, I see how far back the rear crossbar is. I have to have my tailgate down because the tire is about 3" too far back.

No I've drove from Louisiana to to South Dakota back to Wyoming to Yellowstone to Flagstaff to grand canyon to Dallas and I still have to get home. That doesn't include all the trips to town and such for the month I've been on the road. No BS here
