    This:

If you (SR54X4) are really worried about the MPG, just take the skid off unless you're going wheeling. It takes 5 minutes with a ratchet to install or remove. A floor jack makes it easier, but isn't 100% necessary.

I was going to do this, but these budbuilts weigh to friggin much, I run mine all the time and haven't really noticed a mpg loss.

I don't. This is highly hypocritical coming from me, and I realize that, but you can state your point without just plain being a jerk for no real reason.

I'll admit, I'm a bit swayed by lgnrnr's (or however many n's are in that name's) pictures of the damage to his skid. Do I mall crawl? No. But I don't rock crawl either.

I trail ride, and I got the all-pro after I ruined my factory skid. It was good enough at the time.

Having seen the photos, maybe I'd change my opinion if I did it all over again... but I have come to that conclusion from that other guy's photo evidence of a thin skid, not whats-his-face being obnoxious.

Thanks... Maybe! I may also wait another year or two to let the truck get a bit older, you guys wheel pretty for a guy with a 2-year-old truck... :)

Yeah, your little threat over PM proved what I said. I'm tired of this little internet pissing contest, dude. Thank you for the information about the skid plate, hopefully next time we discuss a product neither of us will be jerks about it.

The more I take it out, the more I come around to this philosophy. Maybe I'll get an alabama contingent out this year or next.

I know Parker went (from birmingham) to something with you guys, right?

Mine almost has 16k. It almost had 12k when I broke the diff. Tore the rear bumper off around 11k if I remember correctly. 9k when it got its first tree dent.

    You're running late :p

You're brave, man. Props to that. This is the only thing getting me to work... I'm starting to loosen up as time goes on.

Yeah, he came to the north alabama mod meet last weekend... I bet we could convince some guys to come up one of these days.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
definitely go BB or ATO if you plan on taking some hits to the skids.

I haven't seen any proof (pictures) of busted All-Pro skids, just lots of crying in this thread. Installed my front and rear AP bumpers on Sunday, and my AP skids should be shipping out on Monday.

My Taco is my DD and the first vehicle I've bought on my own, so I'm not going to beat the hell out of it. I do spend a lot of time camping and hunting out in the middle of nowhere, miles from cell phone reception and other human beings. If these skids somehow fail, I will run back here and admit I'm wrong.
