Needs Advice.

    Okay, so as you may or may not know. Im in the process of replacing my engine. So im currently driving my first truck (1985 Chevrolet Silverado C-10) GAS GUZLER! Now here is the issue. I have reservations to go to the beach this upcoming weekend (aug5-8). The original plan was, if my truck isnt going by then to drive my girlfriends car (Ford Focus zx5) since its me and her going. Well her car is acting up ( Randomly shutting of at about 55mph) So IM NOT taking it out of town for a 5 hour drive. So basicly here is my options. 1. Rental Car, 2. My Dad Jeep. (Not the best on Gas). The rental car price for the days i need is about $250. I Figure i could spend that gas in the jeep, but he dosent have a hard top so its not gonna be a very comfortable ride. I cant find anyone that will let me borrow there car, I've even offered to change the oil, and get the tires rotated and balanced for them, but everyone is busy and needs there ride. If i didnt have reservations i woud just say screw the whole trip and not go. This sucks. What would you do in this situation?
