So i just bought a washer and dryer yesterday, they look nice, and are front loading, something the old lady wanted, but yeah, we have the washer for a day and i already have to use the warranty, the stupid computer on it fried after the second load!! They can't make it out till Tuesady, so now my laundry has to sit and wait, and the only reason i bought a new setup is because the washer and dryer i have had for the last "10" years finally took a dump, plain jane analog controlled washer lasted me 10 years with no problems, and this nice new fancy one doesn't even last me 10 hours!! So mad. Sorry i decided to rant and rave, but i am sure many of you all have had similar circumstances, and can relate. K, i'm done, lol.

    That sucks....
Get online and do some research, you're probably not the only one with problems.

I've had a Maytag Neptune since they first came out - it's been probably 12 years. Granted - it's only my husband and I, so it's not over-used.
We did have a problem with a 'chip' that fried up on the circuit board. My husband works electronics and has the exact same chip at work, so he repaired it. It's still not right......After it's done with the final spin, it'll stop but every 5 minutes or so, it'll spin the clothes again. It'll do this every 5 minutes until you open the door.
It's not supposed to do that. I've been living with that for a good 6 years. No biggie....

Once you get that front loader working again - here's a tip that I would highly recommend....

After every load of wash, leave the door OPEN. This allows the inside to dry out. If you don't do that - you can get mold & mildew build up inside it.
If you search online - people complain about that all the time.

Good Luck with the repairs. Hopefully, that'll be the last of 'em.

Great Tip indeedy! Also I would get your clothes out of there if you can otherwise they will stink to high heaven by Tuesday. I went through the same thing with my "NEW" washer, its a Whirlpool too.. hmmm...see the trend ....mine took about a month to dive.

We've had the Maytag Neptune for about 8 years now with no proplems. Sorry you had trouble right off, but maybe now it'll go 15 years without a peep.

I bought the Frigidaire front loader pair last year. My old washer gave up. Or so I thought..
After installing the new washer I saw it would cut out- go dead after half a wash cycle.
Turned out to me my service panel had issues :( Check you service panel-breakers to see if one is weak. Interestingly enough 10 years prior in my other house is how I came to needing a new dryer..

I want to buy a front loader (and will when my current one dies) and in trying to decide which one to get, I've looked at alot of reviews. You are not alone in having it die so soon. Pack the sucker in the back of your truck and take it back and make them trade it for another - that hopefully works.
Hope they get you up and running soon.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
No one in my family has had luck with fancy washers and dryers. They always get the "top of the line" ones. End up selling them or returning them and getting plain jane ones.
I personally have learned that computers and appliances don't play nice.

+1 I don't want all the computer "junk" either. I just want a front loader that works and will last a long time. It that means manual dials, then thats fine with me, although I don't think they make them that way

I liked the manual dial ones myself, my new house wouldn't fit my older, nothing wrong with them model that is why I had to "upgrade" mine, when I leave this place the first thing to go is this washer.

I thought about it, but it was the last 2 they had of that model, so we got them real cheap, i wonder if its coincidence that they were so cheap, nah, they were brand new, and i would have to wait a long time for them to order ones like this. They are some weird chrome and blue color that the wife really wanted, so i just suffer, but at least i am not all PO'd anymore, just annoyed, lol.
