installing grillcraft

I am trying to install a grillcraft grill right now on my truck and am looking for some advice. Hoping somebody that has installed this is online!

Did you follow the grillcraft instructions and cut the center piece out of the factory grill once removed to install this one?

I was looking at popping all the tabs and just removing it all together but then you would lose the gasket material for the hood.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

just follow the instructions. cut out the center part. put in the grillcraft.

 

ive seen people leave the middle section looks good but i dont know how they did it.
can u post some pics after ur done .....id like to see it im thinking of getting it too.

I just cut out the center one, then drilled the holes for the screws. I left the two sides intact next to the main grille, and just screwed them on. Then I used cable ties to attach the lower bumper grille over the original plastic one.

Dunno if you have the Sport, but for the scoop, I pulled out the old metal one and put the new one further back, bolting it to the plastic backing.

 

I just did mine a few weeks back. I cut the center out. Took a shot to mentally prepare myself, but it was pretty easy. I have some pictures on my build thread.

 

that is kind of where I am at. I had my grill off and my fein out ready to cut it then i whimped out and put it all back on. It was hard enough to start debadge it.

 

Ha Ha. It does look much better. The whiskey worked.

 

Hahaha, the booze dose help, I went through the same mental game when I started moding my Bike. Something about cutting apart something that isn't completly paid for make my gutts go into knots. I plan on doing this mod when I get my truck.
