I did the gas pedal recall solely to get the free mats since I had a crack in mat of the driver"s side of the all weathers that came with the truck, which was allowing water, etc to seep thru to the carpet. Well, for those who have done this, you know the replacement mats are not "all weather" compared to the design of the original mats. So, I was having troubles getting the work done, which turned out to be a "computer issue", but wondering why the dealer had not called me to schedule the fix, I contacted Toyota. In the conversation I mentioned the original mats were valued at $200, and were a better product then the mats that replaced them. The rep then offered me a $100.00 credit due to the fact I was not happy with the replacement mats. Just as a FYI...

So, what do I buy with the $100.00 credit? I have to go to a dealer to buy anything. So, I was thinking of buying the parts needed for the rear diff breather mod, which leaves me about 80 bucks or so. What else can I get with my limited budget?
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated...

Soooo, your original all-weather mats cost more than a front set of Weathertech floorliners?

    Installed

    Have one

    Yes

Window sticker value- but even at cost they are more expensive. Does not sound normal for a Factory part?

They are not bad for free, but they are flat compared to a the original with a "catch all" built in. I just saw they have re designed them to be more like a all weather mat design like the originals or aftermarket products.

That's on my list- I but what they want for a oem switch 35-40 bucks? I saw some scion switches with illumination and that fit our holes for around 13 bucks online

I do not have the recall letter in front of me, but maybe they only replaced the All Weather Mats in the recall if you had them. If my mat did not have a crack in it, I would not have let them replace them, because the originals had a lip to keep water, mud etc. contained, and the new ones are heavy duty rubber, but flat and no lip. Designed that way to give more clearance between the gas pedal and mat I am sure. Maybe check the letter to see. I do remember the letter stating replacing the mats though?

Get a couple oil filters, air filter, cabin air filters and maybe some oil? Not cheap through the dealership, but if you gotta spend the cash at the dealership, at least it's stuff you know you'll use.

I would score the adjustable intermittent wiper stalk if you don't already have it. PM sent about replacement original all weather mats.
