    Huh?

How do you put paraffin wax thru a sprayer? I would think that as soon as it cools it goes back to being the solid it started out to be.

With an appropriate solvent and vehicle that evaporates, leaving behind the wax I imagine.

This product looks very similar to cavity wax which I something that was recommended to me by a competent body shop. The WaxOyl product looks good to go. They sell it in an 500ml aresol can. My problem is the application in the boxed section of the frame (in the front). I would need some kind of wand to reach inside or hire someone who has the tools. I already know mine is rusting in there.

AGAIN you're comparing first generations to second. You have yet to show me a 2nd gen that has rusted through, you have yet to show me any other brand trucks of similar age in your area without rust. But you're right. You should sell your truck and buy a raptor because they're soo much better. And when you bend your frame going over the grand canyon because you think you can because the owners manual doesn't tell you that you CAN"T, you can try to get ford to replace it. At least you wont have to worry about rust as it won't last that long/

I wil ltake a pic of my Toyota 94 LC frame that had never been touched (factory rust protection)

I find it funny that you now talking about 1gen of Tundra. You do understand that Tundra is 2gen of T100, right? renamed to Tundra...
and our Trucks are old Tundra/T100 with new body and updated engine.
Not sure why you bringing Raptor to conversation. Red Hearing ...

BTW of course you not goign to find 2gen truck with hole through the frame. Its too early. It took 7 -8 years for Tundra to rust through so first 2gen Tacoma with hole in the frame should be here around 2012-2013.

How many of them are still driving in North East with Factory only protection? Probably Not many, pretty much all of us had been goign crazy with rust protection on our trucks because 1gen Tacoma, Tundra and Sequoia rusting.

Tacoma 96 1gen trucks had holes in frames back in 2003-2004. So it was kinda known in NE around the same time and that is when people started going after Toyota.

Here is example thread from 2005 and #2 post suggests checking the frame for rust...

so right before the 2nd gen came out and after they had already been spec'd/slated to be released. doubt that many people went above and beyond the standard protection at that point. after all, there was no TW for folks to come on and bitch about every tiny "issue".

I really dont understand why people are in denial about the fact that Toyota would continue to put out a sub-par vehicle. Toyota, just like the big three and every other company in the world, are in business to do one thing, to make money and will put out a poor quality product to do so. Even living in an area with snow and heavy salt, driving on the beach, or any other environment that is harmful to metal, there should be no reason to have to "rust proof" a truck that is practically brand new. Hopefully once Toyota fanatics let their hardons for these trucks go down they will come to realize this.

anybody have any experience with this stuff on their vehicle underbody?

    http://www.ospho.com/

its an acid wash solution i use here all the time at work. If you think the rust on your taco frame is hard to keep up with, try keeping a steel tugboat in NYC tainted salt water free of rust. Its a never ending battle!

I routinely grind through rust blisters 1/2'' thick or more. As ive been told here 1/32'' of steel blows out to 1'' of rust. once we get it down to bare metal we treat it with this stuff which turns the rust into a different compound making the metal "black"

the ospho stuff works great on surface rust, but bigger blisters need to be cleaned off. this stuff can be painted over like a primer, it cleans up rust stains on paint, and works pretty quick.

I put it in a windex bottle and spray it right on, just keep it out of your face and eyes. a few gusts of wind have left me burning! probably going to bring some home and try it on the taco next week.

I've been rustproofing my Tacoma twice a year since I bought it, and each spring put it on a lift to grind / blast away rust and repaint the frame. The frame itself looks great, but the caved in motor mount on the frame rail looks terrible.

My frame collapsed on Aug 30, 2011. Toyota owned up to the problem with a complete frame replacement. Today is January 20, 2012 and my truck will be ready this morning with a brand new frame, hopefully not accompanied by brand new problems.

Hey... have any of you guys tried the rustproofing method that I use???.. It's called "corrosion free" (an upgrade of Rust check), I'm led to believe... Anywhoooo, I've done this to my Taco since 2006 and I don't think there is any rust under there... I Change my own oil...do brakes, etc... I see no more rust than what you'd expect with a 7 yr. old truck....(actually less, I'm hoping)... maybe I made a good decision by doing the corrosion free application avery 18 months....

From what I'm hearing here, I'm glad that I applied that product from day 1.....

Will follow up with ya'll in the spring.... when I get under "Tom" for his oil change and tire rotation....OK?

    Toodles fer now.... Over60
