My rear fenders are very wobbly when I hit any kind of bump and I noticed it's because there is no shroud/liner inside the wheel wells. I'm trying to find the replacement part but can't figure exactly what they're called. Ive found fender liner 4WD right and left and also Apron Assembly 4.0 liter right and left (more expensive) along with 4.0 liter upper rail same thing. Can anyone shed some light on the difference?

Number 2,3,7 are braces. You are most likely missing one or more of those. Number 14 is a splash guard. It also acts as a support since it ties the bed panel into the actual bed. If you have all 4 of those install your bed panel will not move. Even if you have just 2,3, and 7 the panel shouldn't move.

If my memory serves me right that is what I am saying. I'll take some pics once I get it back from the shop which will hopefully be tonight. I think whoever had this truck before me beat the living fack out of it. Still runs like a top though.

After looking under my truck in more detail I noticed that the bracket that mounts to the rear fender was broken off on the driver side and the bracket that is part of the bed on the passenger side was cracked. So rather than bothering to weld on new mounts or to try and fix the fiberglass under the bed I jsut went to home depot and fabbed up two brackets of my own for a total of $8. I may need thicker pieces eventually but this should work for now. I'll post pictures after work.

If you have a chop saw, you could replace the two brackets that are behind the rear fender well with some steel or aluminum flat bar cut to size. You will probably have to replace the top two bolts with some longer ones, but i think it would work..

Here is the bracket im talking about you could replace.. is it the same ones you are missing?

Really bad picture but the bar that broke on mine is in front of rear tire..
I think it's about the same fix here as you said on other bracket though.

That happen to mine also. On the driver side back panel there’s a cheap support bracket that keeps the panel from wobbling. It also made to collapse in a wreck. One part of this bracket is very thin and is just rusted out.
It’s a replaceable part for about $30. I don’t have a part number but it was easy to find on one of the toyota parts schematics.

I just replaced both braces on my Tacoma - both rusted completely in half. The small bolts were completely rusted and I had to grind the upper two on each side off. These are the parts I ordered from a Toyota dealership:

BRACE, SIDE PANEL SKIRT, FR RH
    Part Number: 65671-04050
    1
BRACE, SIDE PANEL SKIRT, FR LH
    Part Number: 65672-04050
    1
    BOLT, W/WASHER
    Part Number: 90119-06844
    6

Wow - Thanks for the part numbers - I'll have to make sure they'll be the same for mine but yours is the same except I have a 2.7. I'm sure there a lot more Tacoma owners with the same problem - one thing well actually two things Tacoma's are famous for - reliability and rust. Thanks.
