My wife and I want/ed a new house but realized that it would not be financially smart to move right now. We decided to stick with our current house for 4 years at which point both of our vehicles will be paid off.
This will allow us to up our new home budget and we wont be "house broke" when we do move.
So while we are in our current home we are going to start remodeling one room at a time.

here are the before/in progress pics of the bathroom. Started 2 Aug 2011.
I had already pulled down one cabinet (the big white spot..)

EDIT: If you have done a renovation to your bathroom I would love to see pics in a PM. I dont want other peoples bathroom pics to take away from my project.

I pulled the old gas heater out of the wall and will sheetrock in the new hole
    [IMG]

Removed the old vanity and sink/cabinet
    [IMG]

Awesome wallpaper behind the old cabinets :D

while I had all this out I cut out another hole in the wall to get to the plumbing and replaced all the pipes so it will be nice and shiny and rust/leak free

I will add More pics tomorrow.
Flooring will be getting ripped out tonight, toilet goes by by in the morning and then new flooring should be in by around 10am. after that I will put in the new toilet and then put the new sink, cabinet, vanity, and light fixture in.

after that I will be doing the bathtub wall tile

Nice! what sucks is we are having alarm problems at work so we have to have 24/7 manning and there is only 3 of us. I was gonna get off at 430 and work till dark tonight but I wont get home till 730 and the kid usually goes to bed around 830 :(

its making things more difficult but it will get done.

Look at those sharkbite plumbing fittings. Soo much easier than sweating copper fittings. We just redid our entire kitchen and someone told us at the end, they save a ton of time and you can use Pex pipe which is bendy so you don't have to be 100% accurate like you do with copper. The fittings are a lot more expensive but the piping is much much cheaper. Because the piping is flexible, you don't have to buy as many fittings either.

    Good luck!

 this is our only bathroom so I have to get it back to a somewhat usable state! haha
Ive seen where they make a false tile that you can push in and it pops out, you could hide stuff in :D

for the plumbing, the flex hoses are a good idea but I already replaced it all. I did add two shut off valves so that we can still have running water in the rest of the house without the sink being in yet.

I dont remember what was behind the wall but the piece you see is metal attatching to a drain.

Why do you ask? something I should know?
