so yesterday i got to meet a guy who raced baja back in the 80s

he actually came to install our new AC system (how you get from baja driver the AC repairs, i have no idea). but anyway, as i'm walking outside in the morning to leave for work i see the repair truck in front of our house and this guy practically upside down trying to fit his head into my front wheel well to look at my suspension it was quite a funny site to see first thing in the morning. so when he sees me coming out he says the usual " nice truck" kinda deal, and we just started suspension BSing. the guy knew sooooo much about it, it took my by surprise. which is when i asked how he knew all this. turns out he used to race the oldschool beam trucks (they were not oldschool in the 80s lol).

the really cool part was when he told me that he lived in georgia the entire time he raced.....
without me mentioning a single word about florida or going to school there, he says, "it was tough building a truck like that and practicing thak kind of racing on the east coast, but luckily Ocala, Fl was just a few hours away, so we did all of our testing and practicing there. have you ever been there?"

I think my jaw hit the ground at that point....how big of a coincidence can you get?

morals or the story:
-small world!
-long travel + florida = completely logical or al least i now have some supporting evidence...
-our AC works again

workin on it. looking for some shocks at the moment, and then building a bed cage. talked to engage a little about it. probably build the cage myself, but order some of the tabs and such from them since they can cnc laser them

haha, yeah, a trailing arm 4-link setup would be quite nece. talk about losing ground clearance though.....

i don't know if i'm completely sold on the TC shackles yet though. if i got them, i might have to add a brace between the two sides to add some lateral stiffness.
