Hi all, not sure if this is the right place to post this but here we go. I am new to the Toyota game. I've always had a pickup, first to current vehicle, with a 91 YJ in the mix a few years ago. I bought my first Yoda last year, a 2010 Highlander for the wife. Well I was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger FX 4x4 before I left for deployment, 2 weeks prior to me leaving my family and I were out of state on leave and my wife lent my truck to one of her friends back in Dover DE "with out asking me". To make a long story short her friend got rear ended in my truck and totaled it out, so now I'm in the market for a new truck. On a good note the other chick's insurance gave me 9K for the old 2002!!
So I'm almost 100% on buying a new 2012 Tacoma TRD OFF ROAD T/X PRO. My question is; Is this package worth the money, are they still going to offer the T/X PRO package for 2012, what is the good and bad about the Tacoma? Your thoughts please...

Any particular reason you want that model? I.e. Plans to off road often, rough terrain or just like the look

    Thanks for serving!

Well I do really like the look, also I figure if I can afford it I might as well get it, I've never had a NEW truck before. Also I will be getting PCS orders over seas soon so I want to be able to bring a good off road truck with me that I can depend on as a daily driver. I have always taken very good care of my rides and never really pounded the piss out of them; I just want a real nice 4x4 with out putting a whole lot of work into it right away.

The TX does look great, but unless you can land a deal on one you may as well get a TRD or SR5 and add the wheel and tire choice to make it yours. Just figure out if you really need ATRAC, JBL etc. and search from there, the rest is pretty much the same.
