I have had my Gateway a little over a year (my second one) and it crashed for the 4th. time in that period! ! ! The other times I have saved it by using the "System Recovery Feature" This time I spent about 4 hours with Tech Support (6 Different ones) and they finally decided that the "Hard Drive" is bad and will send a new one.

My problem was I could not talk with a human being! !! the only way I could communicate with these A@#holes was through their "Teck Chat" thing and trying to get them to understand anything was totally frustrating! !

I'm using my wifes laptop now till I get the new hard drive but their tech system SUCKS! ! !! !

Anyone else ever have computer problems????

i'd got a dell inspiron 1505 that i bought last april...only prob was a bad charger that i got replaced for free, eventhough the warranty had been out for a week....and the other is an hp desktop thats like 4 years old and i've upgraded the RAM and video card...but havent had any probs w/ it either...it'll be getting replaced w/ a new "ME" built system this tax season...

i had a brand new compaq laptop and after about 2 months, the hard drive went out...then i got back from a deployment about 8 months later and the processor burned up...then when i sent it in, the wiped my hard drive to replace the processor...jackasses...i now do all my own servicing and pretty much all my family's as well

I currently have a self built desktop comp. And my notebook, used more often, is a compaq bought from wal mart for a price of $600. Got it for being a cheap notebook. 1 gig ram, 160 gig hard drive, AMD 64 X2 1.7g, 17" widescreen display. After I picked it up the first thing I did was format the hard drive and put Ubuntu on it. Haven't had a single problem.
