    They drive a van around with a lot of cameras mounted on a safari type rack. They georectify the images (add GPS coordinates to the pictures) so they can be searched.

    It's called 'street view.'

    A google van drove by me near chincoteague, VA, but alas, my DD isn't in the pic yet... :D

    Ah....That makes sense now. After watching the videos that SS just posted I figured it out. At first I thought it was satellite photos, but then I was asking myself how it wasn't straight down views, so I thought I'd ask.
