    3 inch Pro Comp lift,K&N Intake, Flowmaster cat back exhaust/ Grillecraft mesh grill (upper and lower), Light bar behind grille, Gibson intercooled tips, Go Rhino dominator 2 nerf bars, Mag lite mod.
    Has anyone removed their secondary air filter? If so, have you seen improvments in any way?

    A bunch of threads on this. Some say it makes a diff on the 2.7, but removing it does nothing on the 4.0

    Do you have a 4.0? Have you tried this? I'm reading mixed reviews. Trying to decide if I should do it for the hell of it, or leave it alone because it isn't worth the effort.

    There is no gain to be had. Anyone who thinks there is, is suffering from the "Placebo Affect". Many have tested this with more accurate equipment than a butt dyno, and found it gives nothing to the performance, rev speed, MPG, or global warming.

    i realize this is an old thread, but i removed my charcoal filter last week and went from an average 16.8 mpg to my personal best gas mileage of 18.2. this was after a 6 hour round trip to hot springs, ar. going 75+mph. just thought id share, i was thrilled to get into the 18's.

    not denying that, but what could explain my increased mpg's? i made the same trip as i always do with my truck, same hot ass weather, around the same speed, tire pressure, yada yada...

    I think I will do a couple of tanks with current setup, then a couple tanks with my new aFe dry installed and then a couple tanks with the secondary out and compare data. 2.7L btw.
